Yep, that's the one. The scene just seemed odd to me. Littlefinger is giving a really well-written and well-delivered speech with Ros "teaching" in the background. I'm not complaining, because I think the scene was still great, but HBO does seem to have a habit of doing this. True Blood for instance seem to have a quota of sex/nudity per episode where they'll even stop the plot just to show how "adult" they can be on HBO.

They aren't afraid to show sex. It's HBO after all, and this is a medieval society and prostitutes factor into that society. You don't see any genitals, but you will see the act of sex. Not on the level of Spartacus, tho.

It wasn't anything I was surprised to see after watching 'Rome' a few years back (though I seem to recall that got some raised eyebrows too).

I still don't quite get why people throw such a fit over sex/nudity, but don't bat an eye at blood/violence.

A couple scenes are a bit unnecessary, though. One that comes to mind is a great speech about halfway through the season that for some reason has brothel training going on in the background.

Well the sex and nudity dont bother me but to say it isnt gratuitous isnt fair either. For example, the prostitute Roz isnt in the books. Each of her scenes, most nude were put in to further develop the character she is with. The only reason for the nudity is for HBO. The scene between Renley and Ser Loris isn't from the book either. Tyrion, as introduced in the books, doesnt spend most of his time in brothels. If I recall correctly, he tells Shae that he hasnt been with anyone for a long time.

On the other hand, the language is much more raw in the books, and the themes of incest and rape r much more prevalent than in the show, at least so far. It's an adult story and there seems to be a lot of give and take in the adaption. It's nothing like Spartacus where boundries r pushed just for audience reaction, but nudity has been added to spice it up.

New Season 2 Videos!

Love all those CGI establishing shots. This season is going to look even more epic than last year.

Mmmmm.... always love Emilia Clarke.

The kid who plays Joffrey is absolutely perfect in that role. Definitely comes across as a sadistic little bastard.

I LOVE this trailer.

This season looks epic. I love all the long shots of the kingdoms and lands. Feels so much larger. And I'm glad they aren't spoiling the twists and turns.

Book 3 is my favorite in the series, and if this is how season two is looking, can't wait for season 3!

Have you watched it yet, or are you looking at all the season 2 trailers and spoiling yourself?

Oh, and obviously the contest was rigged.

Havent seen a single episode, so I am pretty eager to receive it.

I must have crappy rigging skills then, because it took me over four years to win one of the contests.

Dan & David and HBO have pulled quite a coup with Dinklage. The new press release (don't go looking for it if you haven't read 'A Clash of Kings' and don't want to be spoiled), has
[Show spoiler]him as receiving top billing now that Sean Bean isn't on the show anymore. It was quite ingenious to get him a Supporting Actor Emmy (easier for a fantasy series than in the lead category), and now they have an Emmy winning lead performance for their show.

I really dont have a favorite. Possibly Clash of Kings cause I was still naive and trusting. Book three is for people who enjoy weddings. I believe there r four of them.

Oh, well then, you should stop watching the trailers for Season 2!

Congrats on winning! Great series - and Season 2 (if it follows closely to the books, which I have no doubt it will - Season 1 was almost verbatim from Book 1) - then I expect it to be even better.

If you aren't reading the books - be sure and try to stay as spoiler free as possible. I HIGHLY recommend staying away from google or any other sites talking about this series as many, many trolls try to throw out spoilers.

Alright, well, let us know what you think once you've watched it. Catch you around.

Is each season based on it's own book or is season 2 still book 1?

As of now, Season 1 = Book 1 - Season 2 = Book 2.

There are rumors that Season 3 will be broken up into two seasons. I hope they do. Book three has way too much going on to cram into 10 episodes.

And if any book deserves to have every aspect captured in a 20 episode arc - it's Book 3, A Storm of Swords!

I just hope they can keep the numbers up... If they continue to draw the viewers they are I wouldn't doubt us getting the entire series... Although the actors (if the cast remains mostly the same), will want mega paydays. Then it could get like the Sopranos where they go on strike for over a year (might have been more)... Thank god I wasn't watching the show religiously when that all happened... I don't think I could bare it for this show
Because it's easier to have courage from a safe distance away.

I would hope that with a show like this, where the (almost) complete story is planned out well in advance of individual season, that the contracts would be worked with the long-term in mind. It's probably similar to film series where they have actors commit to so many films/seasons at a set rate.
