For those interested, CNN will be airing a segment on the Dothraki language this Sunday, April 8 at 2pm ET/11am PT. The topic will be discussed on the 30-minute weekly program 'The Next List' which profiles innovators, visionaries and agents of change, movers and shakers in their own world. I entertained this after reading that fateful chapter a couple years ago. But then Sean Bean was cast in the role.

Sean Bean always dies and never comes back.

Perhaps Eddard Stark heard Martin tell the show runners the ending and that why he was killed.

There must be some agreement about airing the end. Say HBO decides to pull the plug after season five for financial reasons. Do the writers try and give it a proper ending and spoil the unreleased book(s)? That's what happened with Rome. When the producers were told the 2nd season would be the last, they threw everything planned for both s2 and s3 into that season,

I doubt it. Most likely they'll respect Martin enough to let him end his series via his books.

5-6 years should be more than enough time to finish the last 2 books. That is if he doesn't take 5 years to do one like he did with A Dance with Dragons.

You're assuming a lot from GRRM. The man is already pushing 65 and isn't exactly a model for fitness. I hope he already has the books finished before the start of season 3-4 or we will have a problem.

Well he's writing a book, not running a marathon. Age really shouldn't be an issue. He said book 6 will be done a lot quicker than book 5 so that's good news at least.

He also said Book 5 was going to be out Feb 2007.

I do worry about health issues with the big guy. Can't say I haven't looked at him and worried about it. Obviously, he's a great storyteller and hope he sticks around as long as possible to grace us with his writings.

Back to the show.

I reread Book 2, and wow, forgot the details of some great scenes and can't wait!!!

I still worry they won't be able to do the book justice in 10 hours.

It definitely is, considering you don't see very many morbidly obese 70 year olds. I'd honestly be shocked if GRRM made it another 5 years without suffering a major stroke or some other malady that prevented him from finishing the series.

Ha Ha, it didnt take five years to write A Dance With Dragons. It took five years to write the second half. The first half or more of ADWD contained all the left over chapters from A Feast For Crows. I believe chapter 46 is where the new material begins.

I am hoping (Praying) that those Euro places who showed Ep 2 early will be showing Ep 3 this week

Just a quick question, is this thread based on US Air time, or based of when episodes go on the internet? I saw S02E02 was online, but I am waiting for the actual broadcast instead...

US air time seems to be the rule. Anything before that or about books should be in spoilers .

HBO took down the episode and has said it was a mistake that won't be repeated for future episodes.

Yep, any discussion of anything that hasn't aired for everyone should be in spoilers.

Once an episode has aired its free game with no spoilers, including the book up to that point.

We've had great luck in the thread with everyone being very respectfully of those who haven't read the books, or the people who got the sneak peek keeping quite about what to expect.

I wouldnt say it was awful by any means. I just didn't like how they changed stuff. They should have kept the Arya secret near the end like in the book. The Theon scene was what I hated the most though. They didn't even show Arron(or how ever you spell it). The best part of that scene is when they get up to the castle and get off the horse then he finds out its his sister and they obviously left that out. The Craster thing was kinda lame too. I don't know why they did that. But who cares they showed a WW
