Default New Start..

What up guys
Right now i have a Samung HT-A720S HTiB which is about to get sold to m brothers friend for $300 Starting over, no more HTiB, I have learned my lesson My buget is around $500-$600 for now due to girlfriend having knee surgery in a few weeks and helping with the bill I have decided on Polk M50's for fronts,CS1 for center and M30's out back which will run $380, Or 4 Polk M20's and CS1 for center ($340)Which one is the best option? A sub will have to wait for awhile Now im stuck on the receiver part I have a PS3 so i would like a receiver with pass-through a/v and can decode TrueHD and MA due upgrading to a stand alone BP player around christmas time. I have a $160 Best Buy gift card that i will be using towards the receiver This should give me about $220 to play with after the gift card.. Im looking at the Pioneer VSX-819H-K $299 or Yamaha RX-V465 $330 What do you guys think? Any opinions would help.

Definitely go with the M50's and M30's. You'll regret not getting them if you go the other route. They are easily the better bang for your money than the M20's. As for the receiver its a toss up, but I would personally go with the Pioneer. The Pioneer will be a little more faithful to the stated power than the Yamaha, but both are great receivers and there are other reasons you may prefer the Yamaha. You should audition both before deciding.

I guess either one of them will be fine. I think you may be shooting yourself in the foot if you don't save for a receiver with pre-outs, like the Yamaha 665, so you can add an external amp at a later date.

I also agree that you should go with the M50/M30 combo for the speakers.

Good luck!
