Have you guys seen the t-shirt they have at Target? It's got a picture of Clint with the hat and it says "The Good" underneath. To bad they don't carry size small or else I'd own it already.

http://blu-ray.dvd.it/western/il-buo...io/id-2285785/

DVD.it now has a preorder up. It says English and Italian but also lists a 1:78:1 Open Matted AR. I hope that is wrong but it just adds to the growing uncertainty regarding the specs of this release.

Well, someone on AVS is saying that he contacted Mondo and they confirmed no English audio. I have asked pro-b if it would have them, and he let me know that a reliable source had flagged the release with English audio. Boy oh boy this release is getting fun. I am not sure what is going to happen but I have my copy on order and will let you know how it turns out.

This just got weirder. From Mondo's own site:
http://www.mondohe.com/novita-ottobr...to-il-cattivo/

Specs:
Quote:
Video: 1080p VC-1 1:78:1
Audio: English & Italian DTS-HD MA 5.1
Subtitles: Italian
BD: BD25
Time: 168 mins
But the only problem is, it list DVD zone 2. Really weird because if these are the correct specs, this release is either open-matted or cropped, and it lacks any kind of mono audio. Should be shipping from the Italian sites soon so I guess someone will find out on here or HDD soon.

**Lets see if these specs change as Mondo's site seems to be acting up.
_________________________________________
DVDStore Italy has this new specs:
Formato video 2,35:1 Anamorfico 1080p
Formato audio 2.0 PCM: Italiano
5.1 DTS HD: Italiano
Sottotitoli Italiano NU

Sounds more accurate tbh.

dvdstore got the right one for sure.
author confirmed that they wanted to put only italian track.
Also video has been totally remastered and to follow more the idea of the original film.
Also its screwed the size of BD because its bd50 (confirmed by the author himself as always)

Someone at cinefacts forum confirmed no English audio and 161 min version. No Extras, and BD25. Apparently has more grain then the MGM version.

Comparisons of the MGM BR and Mondo BR. Wow, the Mondo version craps all over the MGM. Also it is a BD50, my mistake. Glad I didn't try to cancel my order.

Spectacular release. The screenshots don't even begin to do it justice. It is just beautiful. The SQ is quite good as well.

I hope Mondo or Paramount is working on it. I would get that Day 1.

Wow, like night and day. Interesting that the Italian version (or the MGM, whichever is closer to the original) has a completely different color timing.

But now you can really see the DNR working it's black magic for MGM.

I already hated the MGM (Fox) disc for only giving us the remixed sound and super-extended cut (which included a long, unnecessary scene that Leone did not want and cut from all versions of the film), and I always felt that there was too much digital trickery. This seals it. The Italian video remaster truly reveals the shoddy, minimum effort Fox put into this release.
