And brettallica, let's make sure never to work together. At my current job I do alot of work on my own not requiring the input of others and use it as an opportunity to listen to my iPod (at a reasonable volume). I'm in an office so it helps pass the time. Then again, it's not very social here whereas other jobs I was at had more interaction and I never listened to music.

I love how active this thread is right now.

There is a guy I work with who uses the phrase "per se" in almost every sentence.

I find people who use "per se" don't even know what it means.

"Literally" is a good overused one, too. (Great HIMYM episode about this).

An example might be when there's a phone call for the iPodded employee, but he/she doesn't know he/she is being paged because they're listening to their iPod.
Ah, makes sense. I have a view of who is approaching me and I take my earbuds out when I see someone coming by.

Haha not limited to just work, but I definitely pick up on how often that term gets thrown around.

Nice! This is encroaching on the other thread about grammar, but it works well here, too. There are a couple employees who always say "also, too" when they really should only be saying "also" or "too" as in "Also, too, I want to be sure you complete this task today."

Yep, no hot girls in my company. We're a construction company and we only have 2 women in the company. Last summer I got to pick who we would interview for our open receptionist position and I tried to decipher through the resumes who was young and possibly attractive but unfortunately my boss overruled my choice for the position and instead went with someone experienced .

I work with many, and unfortunately, some of them shouldn't talk. Some are cool and actually pretty intelligent. But, as you know, some people don't exactly get by with book smarts. Seriously, I'm not saying that I'm the smartest dude in the world, but where I work we need some kind of test, like a coloring book, if you color in the lines you keep your job. If you don't, you go in timeout. Example, we have 33 tables outside on the beach where I work, I get tickets that say 'Table 34' or, not kidding, 'Table 40'. Or they will ask for Jager or another liquor, and I come out with 2 bottles only to have 2 of each sitting in the cooler. God bless beauty and brains, wherever you may be.

How about Micro-managing bosses??

I once had a CIO, he would watch you type, then question why you would do certain things.

Just leave me alone and let me do my work in peace

No, I pretty much am. I'm just tired of working with 40-something women who spend all their time talking about their kids and being on the phone arguing with their kids over whether they can do something. It's especially bad while the kids are out of school for the summer.

I used to work in place with 97% women, young attractive women. let me say that they became more an more unattractive as each week passed with their catty and unprofessional behavior.

Now....I don't mind some unpro behavior as long as it's at least entertaining or clever and/or drugs and alcohol are involved but this was just lame, boring, and stupid shit.
