Default Those who bought a Samsung LED

Greetings. I had just purchased 55 inch Samsung LED model number UN55B6000. It has a great picture and I enjoy its features. However, I have noticed that the sound does not match up with what the TV puts out picture wise. I have tried searching the web about this issue but no cigar. This occurs WITH the receiver and without(meaning the sound out of the TV itself as well).

I do have motion enhancer on. What seems to have occured and what others have pointed out to me is that the sound leaves the tv faster than the picture does. Meaning when someone talks the sound is a split second faster than when someone moves their lips. It's as if there's a delay but not in the sound but in the picture to keep up with the sound.

Has anyone else experienced this? I'm going to try and tweak the motion enhancer to see if that does anything but I do prefer it on. I just don't understand how sound could be so far ahead of what the picture is indicating. I've never experienced something this noticable in any other tv. Though this does take a little getting use to but when someone reminds you you can't help but to think about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have a Samsung but I sometimes experience it while watching HD channels on my Sharp. It seems though if the HD signal is slower than regular tv.

Hello,

I have a UN46B6000 and don't have this problem. As a matter of fact I'm watching The Discovery Channel and TNT in HD right now trying to catch this and nothing. I haven't noticed this while watching BDs or in the occasional DVD either.

I'm baffled. Don't understand how sound could precede picture on my setup. I am using an old HDMI cable from PS3 to the TV but I doubt that would be an issue.

if it only occurs with the receiver then it would somehow normal as some receiver have "lip sync" and can actually be changed in the setup, but the strange thing here is that it also happens with the tv speakers. I say go to the store where you bought and check another one like yours and see what happens. For what s worth ask the sales guy about this but I doubt they'll know and if they do they'll just play dumb

if you still have a chance to return go for it and get a new one if possible. If problem still persists maybe contact Samsung directly and see if it's a problem they may be aware of. Though the Samsung customer service route is a 50/50 chance you'll get good/bad service. I had a problem similar to this one on two BDs, but discovered it was a software playback problem since i use an HTPC. A friend had the same problem, but on a Sony TV. So it was not isolated to Samsung TVs and it turned out it wasn't the TVs at all for us. A simple update for that software fixed it for us. The only thing i can think of is that your TV is truly defective somehow.

I have the 55" un6000b and never had a problem like that. Might want to take it back if you just bought it. If not try there live chat feature on Samsungs website, it worked for me and was quicker than calling them..

Hmm....I have that tv and haven't noticed the problem. You say its the tv speakers and receiver w/ seperate speakers? What is the setup you have going? It might be an issue with the cable box if you have one. If this does this without anything hooked up to it (like without cable box or ota channels) and audio is off thru tv speakers...your tv is probably defective.

I just have the TV hooked up to the PS3 via HDMI for video. Optical cable is feeding the receiver from the PS3 for sound and it is on bitstream. I use the surround sound 5.1 for my blu-rays and this is where I mainly notice the issue. When viewing from my cable box (hooked up via component) I don't notice much of an issue, perhaps on several channels but that's it.

Seems like Blu-Ray is more of the issue. I'm going to do more research on Samsungs site to see if I can find it. I will also go to Best Buy and see if any of the other TV's are doing the same thing. Maybe a firmware update for the Samsung could do something.

I work for the local cable company here... and know that there are sometimes we have that issue... just with a few shows here and there... and its on the HD channels 99% of the time... I checked with some of the programers and they confirmed it from the feed itself...

It really could be anything... maybe even check with your provider and see if there's a known issue...

edit...

Nevermind... I just saw that youre having the issue while watching Blu's too...

does it happen when you watch movies? because it could just be the cable box not your tv

Switch from bitstream to LPCM. If that doesn't help, you're TV is probably screwy.

To echo what the above poster said, you might be able to troubleshoot a little by taking the above advice.

If you're feeding audio to the receiver from the PS3, then it's not even going to the TV. This is an audio problem, not a video problem.

It sounds like more of a problem with the source, to be honest. You say it happens with the TV speakers AND the receiver. If you're going PS3->Optical->Receiver and still having the same issue, then the problem obviously isn't the TV. As long as you're not outputting sound from the TV to receiver via optical, I don't see how it could be a problem with the TV. It sounds like it could be the PS3.

Switch the audio being output from the PS3 to LPCM. The PS3 will decode the audio and output to the receiver. If the audio is still unsynchronized whether the PS3 is set to bitstream or LPCM AND audio is unsynchronized whether outputting sound from the TV speakers or the receiver, then I think the PS3 is the culprit. I've never heard of this being an issue with the PS3, though.

I do a lot of gaming and its great, as for the whole plasma gaming, is that not a thing of the past, sure a plasma owner would be able to tell you better.
