Default Favorite film of 2009 so far?

All right, almost getting to Oscar season. So I thought I would ask what has been your favorite movie of 2009 so far?

Me personally:

1. District 9
2. Moon
3. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
4. The Hurt Locker
5. Up
6. Star Trek
7. Watchmen
8. Coraline
9. Taken
10. Public Enemies

For the poll I was a little varied. Tried to include all the big summer blockbusters (yes, even G.I. Joe) while including some of the smaller independent films (Moon, 500 Days of Summer). So what is your favorite?

*Poll incoming*

EDIT: Did the poll and forgot G.I. Joe. Oh well... was anyone going to vote for it, honestly?

Watchmen and Up tie for me honestly, I think they'll both be nominated for best picture as well come next year.

In the theaters I've only watched Star Trek, Watchmen, District 9, Taking of Pelham 123 and Drag me to Hell, Hangover as far as I remember. Edit: Knowing on a DVD rental and Taken on a blu-ray rental..

Top 3:
Star Trek
Taken
Watchmen

Still want to see Moon, Up, Transformers 2, G.I. Joe, Harry Potter, Wolverine, Terminator:Salvation, etc

Remember, folks, to make the distinction between "favorite" and "best". Sometimes they may coincide with each other, but oftentimes they don't.

With that said, I voted for Drag Me To Hell. Fun, fun time at the movies. Bruno was a close second.

The best movie of the year, to me, is District 9....so far. Until Avatar comes to rape all of our eyeballs in December.

It disappoints me to say that Public Enemies was easily the biggest letdown of the summer. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it on several levels, but it just felt....iono....incomplete and rushed, almost. I expected so much more from Mann. Wolverine could be considered a letdown, but I just had this funny feeling it was going to suck ass from the moment there were reports that there were multiple reshoots happening. Never a good thing when that happens.

Still haven't seen Moon, Taken, Star Trek, The Hurt Locker, (500) Days Of Summer, or Coraline.
Big Tits Zombie

-Action

No synopsis for Big Tits Zombie.

(don't think it needs one, fellas. Pretty self explanatory.)

From best to worst, originally I only included top four but figured my 2009 list is small enough to just do them all...

District 9
(500) Days Of Summer
Watchmen
The Hangover
Taken
Star Trek
Friday The 13th
I Love You, Man
Terminator Salvation
Bruno
Wolverine

I guess you can split this one up by genre... oddly saw the top two on the list this past weekend. Didn't see Up and may someday, but my track record with seeing Disney/Pixar movies isn't good. Just checked and I saw 25 movies in 2008 (including The Dark Knight seven times), so my movie-watching in 2009 has been scaled back significantly.

Because Calamari Marionette Ph.D sounded pompous, that's why.

Moon and Hurt Locker never found their way to a theater near me. So I'll go with Up and T4

You made me choose between Transformers and Star Trek. So I went with Transformers although I wasn't bored for one second between the two. Now Watchmen on the other hand...how long is that movie?

I loved UP but hopefully friday I'll have a new fav movie
Inglorious Basterds!

Actually, Werner, we're all tickled to hear you say that. Quite frankly,
watching Donny beat Nazi's to death is the closest we ever get to going to the movies.
