Why do you hate X3-The Last Stand?

Alright, I've read several posts relating to X3. Not just on this forum, but in general, people seem to dislike it.

I'm not trying to offend anyone, but I'm seriously asking: Why do you not like it?

I'm not looking for answers like 'it sucked' or 'it was bad.' Please tell me why it was bad and/or sucked.

Personally, I liked it alot. While it was not up to par with the first two, I did not think it was bad by any means.

I'm really just trying to figure out why people hate it.

Because of the "story." The first two had a pretty good one. This one seemed rushed to me. Plus, there was no character development (and so many classic characters died). I loved Beast, but Storm was annoying. Plus the whole "cure" that failed with Magneto by the end of the movie. Too many reasons apparently.

yes, I'll agree that the story did seem rushed. It was not as coherent of a story as the previous two films.

I never really followed the comics. Did Jean/Dark Phoenix kill Dr. Xaivier in the comics?

Honestly, I wish Brian Singer wouldn't have passed on this movie for Superman Returns. I don't really have a problem with Brett Ratner, but would've preferred the same director for all three.

Um, I honestly agree here. I can't answer your other question though. I haven't kept that up-to-date with the newer comics. But from what I've read (and please, anyone, correct me if I am wrong), Jean did not kill Prof. X. I think that switching by the third is probably what did it for me because a new director would have a new vision, despite the first two being great (IMO). After that decision, everything went downhill, though I can at least stand watching it, unlike other MARVEL films (*cough* Elektra, Hulk *cough*).

No I'm not dyslexic, that's just the order I like the movies in. o_O Are you dyslexic? X3 is a lot like Spider-Man 3. Huge mess of a movie but still a lot of fun to watch and also my favourite movie in that trilogy.

a whole bunch of reasons...the almost total removal of Rogue from the story. Them bowing the Hallie Berry's stupid demand of more screen time. Wolverine was basically turned into cyclops in terms of temperment. they killed cyclops in the first 5 minutes. they ruined the dark phoenix story. no nightcrawler. juggernaught as a mutant. archangel was done horribly. pretty much beast was the only thing they did right.

I liked the 3rd one but not better than the first two, the story I didnt like for the thrid one, I mean the cure weapon was ok but having jean grey with split personality i didnt like

Because it has no sense of story, character, and it renders the past 100 minutes moot by the time the ending rolls around.

I don't hate it at all. I enjoy it a lot.

Yeah, there's a lot of fkd up things about it, but hell, it's an action packed ride.

X2 is still by far the best movie out of them all.

2. Crappy writing
3. Juggernaught had a crappy actor with crap lines
4. Bunch of emo kids work their way up to Magentos inner circle of trust instantly
5. Crappy new characters that pop up do 1 thing then disappear

Pretty much hit the nail on the head. I watched this movie in the theaters and have never felt compelled to rent/buy it to watch it again.

I agree (though I did like one line by the Juggernaut). Also when you have a great actor like Sir Ian McKellan deliver a line as poorly as when he say "what have I done", you know there is a problem. I don't hate the film, it has a couple well done moments, but overall its nothing special and is a bit below average for a summer blockbuster film (it is probably emphasized as X2 was much better in every respect).

I don't hate the movie. It's an enjoyable popcorn flick.

I think it suffers from a too many characters not enough plot problem.

Plus you apparently killed off three favorite characters. (Yes I know they could all come back) That alone can leave a sour taste in people's mouths.

Some of the new characters weren't handled that great either, Angel and Juggernaut stick out to me.

I like Vinnie Jones, but the suit looked silly and as mentioned by someone else he's not a mutant. Also Juggernaut is supposed to be huge, like Hulk. If you can't do him right don't do him at all.
