Varsity Blues Blu-ray Questions and Comments - Blu-ray Forum

So I got the new Varsity Blues Deluxe Edition disc today and there are a few omissions.

1) No where on the package does it say deluxe edition.
2) There was supposed to be the Ali Larter audition footage but that is not on there.
3) I thought there was supposed to be an extended cut. This, however, is the theatrical cut.

The transfer sucks, too.

Anybody know what happened to this promising title. They really messed it up.

BTW, there are no deleted scenes on there as well. Below are the details that were originally given.

Paramount Home Entertainment has announced new DVD and Blu-ray releases of Varsity Blues which stars James Van Der Beek, Jon Voight, Paul Walker, and Amy Smart. Each will be available to own from the 15th September. Extras will include commentary with Director Brian Robbins and Producers Tova Laiter and Mike Tollin, a Football is a Way of Life: The Making of Varsity Blues featurette, deleted scenes, an Ali Larter Audition, additional features ("Two-A-Days the Ellis Way", "QB Game Analysis", "Billy Bob with No Bacon"), and the theatrical trailer.

Hmm, that is very disappointing. Especially the transfer. So none of those listed extras are on it? That is nuts.

No, several of those extras are on it, just not all of them. But if you are saying it is a deluxe disc, then give us the deluxe treatment.

Yeah, just make sure the screen caps include Ali Larter in the Whipped Cream bikini.

This was a movie in play screencap, I didnt pause for any of the shots so take that for what it is

I'm coming around on the picture quality, but still disappointed that the deleted scenes at least were not included. Snippets of these scenes can be seen in the trailer.

cant comment on the quality.. its gotten decent disc reviews, but i personally liked the movie. Dont expect an epic story, but its entertaining

i liked it... it's not the best football drama (especiall since friday night lights) but it's still very entertaining.... pick it up!
