Hey Guy's

A big thanks to lbgibson76 for getting me started on this Thread.

Right intro guy's.

First I'm on the other side of the Planet. NZ, New Zealand.

You guy's know it as LOTR country. King Kong and Avatar was filmed here also. With a bit of luck maybe the Hobbit. The whole country + our Prime Minister has our fingers crossed.

Secondly, I have been into HT since about 1989. I have had all sorts of technology and still consider that I am learning.

I have recently for the first time tried a Power Amp. I am impressed.

I decided this year that I'm not interested in 3D and that I will invest my $$ into something that would not go out of date. Hence the Emotivia.

I have learnt a lot over the years and are happy to give some tips. If anyone has similar equipment, I am happy to test.

I buy Movies (software) from the Great US, UK, France, Canada, Germany and New Zealand.

My room was built in 2004 and this was my second attempt at a dedicated HT Room. I corrected a lot of mistakes from my
first attempt. So far I am really pleased and the room gets well used.

I have a lovely understanding wife, two Son's (2 and 6).

Thanks for the great comments.

Ta (Thanks)

Thanks,

Yeah I concentrate on wire management. It is free, it does't cost anything and it can make a difference.

I have been very careful to keep all power cords away from the analogue leads going into the Power Amp.

Digital cables shouldn't matter.

I'm with you on all counts buddy! I'm not saying that 3D doesn't have a place in this hobby, only that it doesn't have a place in my HT until they figure out a way to make it work without the glasses And I recently got my first amp as well, Emotiva XPA-5. Can't wait to pick up an XPA-2 later this year. Other items may become outdated or need to be upgraded, but external amps will provide plenty of power and satisfaction for many years to come.

Welcome to the club!

Default What's next

Photo's don't seem to be working at the moment.

What's next: Well I'm thinking Dune HD Max?

Thinking of retiring the Denon 3930CI and putting my DVD collection on the
HD Max. Gets all the DVD's off the shelf also.

Just want to check that the scaler is decent.

Yeah, I have been caught by every HT bug for 20 years and I have no intrest in this 3D craze.
I didn't even enjoy Avatar in 3D. Must be my eyes.

Default Yahoo HOBIT

I have to blow of some steam,

WE HAVE THE HOBIT

Our Prime Minister has just done a press conference anouncing
we have a deal with Warners to do the two Hobit films in NZ
with Peter Jackson.

The whole country has been watching for 2 weeks nerviously as
the Australian Acters Union almost ruined it for us.

Horray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
