It was 100 degrees here yesterday officially, the first time we hit 100 degrees since August 2002...so that was pretty hot. Another 100 degree day today as well.

Yeah the eastern coast is having a heat wave. I had to walk a mile out there yesterday and I almost passed out.

Are you still running in the morning in the heat? Or is it a bit cooler at 5:00a.m.?

Yep, I ran this morning...it was 80 degrees at 4:30 AM!

Emo is fast as hec with shipping, I love em'! My wife has been put on notice about tomorrow afternoon (that is usually when FedEx arrives at my house.)

Today is the speaker stands. Tomorrow is the Emo amps and Friday is speaker wire and banana plugs. I am waiting for my wife to give me $$ for the new speakers, so I will be using a pair of Sony B1000 for the time being. I also may get myself a cheap receiver that has HDMI abilities, so I can use it for playing CD's and possibly upgrade to a SACD player that can decode the codecs and send via HDMI to avoid the whole Zone 2 thing. Just make it a seperate 2 channel set-up in the dining room entirely instead.

The Oppo 80 will be the one thing that needs to wait. I may be buying it from another member who will eventually be getting a different player. He isn't ready to sell it yet and I have to replenish my funds as well, but when I do get it, it will be well taken care of I know that (all firmware updates have been done), and for less than the $289 retail they go for right now.

As far as the new 2 channel set-up in the dining room, I am just too lazy to run 2X100 speaker cable runs under the house and drill through a few walls...I'd rather just get a seperate receiver for around $150.....

I want to know if I can still listen to SACD's in their HD form this way.....anyone?

Thanks! My son is a huge Batman fan so I changed it. It's tough to find one I like. I use a Fight Club av on other forums, but that movie is kind of taken here for an av.

The short answer is yes. You will be able to listen in PCM and it will sound great. However, some people prefer the DSD stream.

You need to step up to the DG820 or DG920 to utilize HDMI audio passthough. The 520 only supports picture passthrough but not 5.1 sound. Most of the users there are using the optical connection for audio.
