I was going to wait until I got the subwoofer veneered but I'm not so sure when that's ever going to happen. I will get some more pics up in a bit.
My recommended setup for Home Theater Virgins:

Speakers: Polk Monitor 50's, Polk Monitor 40's, Polk CS2 Center, and eD subwoofer or

Thumbs up

New update!

Today, I finally got the chance to really investigate a very bothersome vibration coming from somewhere in my room. Apparently, the vibration was coming from my subwoofer. Initially, I thought the issue was with the screws I was using. I used the tone generator on REW at 12.5hz and was getting a loud vibration sound that would go away upon pressing the subwoofer driver. So, after I picked up some higher quality wood screws and washers, I came back to double check what I was hearing. I confirmed that when I pressed on the driver, the vibration would go away. On accident, I also discovered that's not the only way I could remove the vibration. By pressing on the front of the subwoofer, the vibration would go away. I decided to take out a driver and see what was vibrating on the inside. I then played a 30hz tone and quickly discovered the issue was with a piece of 2x2 bracing attached to the front. So within a few minutes, I had drilled a hole and added a screw to the front of the sub to eliminate the vibration. I also discovered there was a pillow that had become very loose inside the subwoofer. It had been lodged into the port. I pushed it back up tightly back into its position. After replacing the driver into its' position, I tried out the 12.5hz tone to over 100dB with no internal vibration! I also found out that the pillow was likely limiting the output of the entire subwoofer (). I rechecked my SPL meter and immediately noticed the overall output in room was increased by at least 3dB overall. The difference in sound from removing the trouble vibration and pillow is quite remarkable, as unbelievable is it already seems. Upper frequencies seemed to be damped too much before, and with good reason with the internal vibration and lodged pillow in the port. Once again, I am in bass heaven!
My recommended setup for Home Theater Virgins:

Speakers: Polk Monitor 50's, Polk Monitor 40's, Polk CS2 Center, and eD subwoofer or
HTIB: Polk 5.1 system and
Receiver: Non-Network Onkyo TX-SR608 or Onkyo HT-RC180 Network Receiver

Good to hear you solved the problems. I bet it sounds a lot better without the rattle and pillow-modded port.

I was just looking back on your FR, that's pretty awesome!

Good job investigating and troubleshooting DK. I am happy you found the issue right away with the vibrations along with the pillow/port issue as a bonus surprise. I bet you feel like you are listening to the sub for the first time again! By the way, I don't know if I mentioned this before, but you did an amazing job on that beast!

The pillow in the port was definitely a surprise for me. A lot of time and effort went into getting the sub put together and it was completely worth it.
