Nothing yet. Trying to slow down. May pass on the Criterion titles, looking at 5; $20 ea. is a bit much. May just find a few on Amazon at cheaper prices, limit myself to $50 instead of $100.

Gonna save my $50. May wait to get on the Black Friday sale. Be here soon. Nothing really out there right now that I need to get. Except Alien. Everything else on my wishlist I can wait till it they are under 10 bucks. some under 8 will do.

Went to a different OB-GYN last night (wife wants to test drive a few). It won't be that guy. I was getting so angry. Have you ever talked to a salesman, or anyone, that seems to have a prepared speech for any topic. When you ask a specific question, they just rattle off something that seems like a smoke screen just to placate you and keep the conversation moving. This doctor last night was like that.

I know Chinese is the guys first language, but his English was pretty good, and my wife said she had the same problem too, getting a simple answer to a simple question.

1. I asked about my wife's anemia. It is not a normal kind, she has never even taken anything extra for it in the past. Mediterranean Anemia, common in, as guessed the Mediterranean folk, and parts of Asia. I wanted to know what extra steps should she take to ensure that her and the baby are healthy (such as extra iron, liver, eggs, whatever). The guy told me because I don't have it the baby probably won't have it. One more time, "What should my wife be doing NOW to make sure the baby grows healthy NOW and she stays Healthy NOW." Guy answers with," There are a pair if chromosomes, since mine is good and one of hers isn't there is a chance..." Well I did grade 10 Biology I know this. "WHAT SHOULD SHE DO NOW BECAUSE OF THE ANEMIA..." Guy says, "Do you think your wife is healthy?" ......Now I feel like he is a spin doctor or a door to door missionary.

2. Amniocentesis needle: Wife isn't keen on it. She will be 35 a month before baby is born, so doctors recommend it. I asked what does it screen, I know Down Syndrome, so what else? To make a long story short, I never got the answer. I had to come home and look online.

Did get to see it rolling around and hear the heartbeat last night, which was awesome. That was before the Q&A and the point I screamed and yelled and flipped the desk and was dragged away by orderlies and thrown ion this padded cage. Surprised they have Internet access. I may not have screamed and yelled and all the other thing, but boy I felt like it. I let it ruin the whole sonogram and heartbeat experience

Sorry to hear you ran into a Crack Pot for an OBY Doctor.Good thing in asking the specific questions.Sounds like he didn't know or didn't care.

And I dont care what he says there are precautions needed for Anemia.So,dont listen to the BS he was peddeling(like the snake oil salesmen of old)

Got an appointment on Saturday with OB-GYN #3. Hope it goes better. Wife heard many foreigners go to see him; at the Mennonite hospital, last night was at the Buddhist hospital, not sure what wiil be next, traditional Chinese, some tiger bones and rhino horn, not sure how they ademinister the horn.

I am glad you do have the oppertunity to see other doctors.But I can imagine the way they practice certain things over there must be different.

So I guess just see what he has to offer(And a good bedside manner would be a nice add-on as well)

And I guess those forms of ancient treatments worked for thousands of years.So,there might be something there.But I would feel more comfortable if they have a modern and up to date,pre-natal wing.

All is okay. Hot and humid here; really makes wife tired and me too. She's got an excuse. I'm just a a bit overweight. I need to lose 30lbs. Summer really reminds me that being 220 is too much.

Watching True Blood; just finished episode 7. Pretty good so far. So much better than the Twilight/New Moon stuff.

Good to keep busy.

My work has been really slow this summer. Won't pick up till September. Trying to make the best of it. Watching BD's in the air conditioned living room is a nice way.
