looks great, I would put the DVD first and then the blu-ray, that way the impact is better. I got confused for a second...

I can't wait

Heh, just seen the screens from Home Cinema Choice. Looks of course better then the DVD but I was hoping they would touch up or fix the CGI alien to make it a little more realistic. At least remove the green glow around the alien. lol

Thanks for the Screens BTW dvdmike!

Looks good, but maybe a bit soft? I'm no expert, but there doesn't appear to be much in the way of fine detail in the way of these. Little bit disappointed to be honest, since the first 2 films looked fantastic

I get the impression they probably only used the 2003 HD transfers for Alien3 and Resurrection, and this guy seems to confirm that: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G5y6sd17y9k

However didn't Bill Hunt say all-new transfers were done for all 4 films? Though just the first 2 got the Lowry treatment?

Now can you just imagine how it will look in 1080p?

Small price to pay for HD. ON!!!!!

Haven't you heard of the notion 'suspension of dissbelief'?

I also remember that nice thudding noise of the door being cut open landing.Think Aliens has one of the best opening of any actionfilms ever. Also looking forward to the sentryguns sound.Think this is going to be sweet!

Remember:When you look at stills from BD on screen, they invariably looks duller than when the movie is running.Always gets dissapointed looking at stills-however good-here on this site, but it looks nice when viewed as intended

That shot is more popular than the movie itself.
Too much nostalgia interrupts progress. Looking forward to something new.

It's one of the classic, most notable moments in the series

The Alien 3 DVD shots are actually pretty good, but the bambi alien moving away from the dead ox is a major improvement. I'm guessing the extended scenes in the assembly cut are going to benefit the most from this new transfer.
I mostly come out at night...mostly.

Hold on, wasn't there a story a while back saying Weaver was doing new commentaries for all Alien movies on the blu?

“It created such a benchmark for visual design in science fiction, as well as photography, acting, sound, and editing – all the things that one did not necessarily associate with science fiction.” James Cameron on ALIEN.
“There's also no question that Cameron made an excellent film with Aliens. It really is an achievement.” Ridley Scott on ALIENS

You're right, there was.

Link

I assumed it would be a solo Sigourney track, but it hasn't been mentioned on any of the release details that I've seen for this set.

there was a scheduling conflict so she never got a chance to record them. Which is a shame.

Celebrities lead stressful busy lives and have no time for us

LOl Im with you how hard can it be for her to take the time to do commentaries. its not like she would have anything better to do.
