Default vertical banding...anyway to fix that?

ok so about a year ago i purhcased a sharp lcd 46inch 1080p tv. I use it with my ps3, and i tell you i love it. The picture quality is amazing...crisp images deep blacks...but i noticed when i first got it that certain scenes i would see these transparent lines across the screen during certain scenes or shots...normaly pastel colors or smoke. I just figured it happens...but now i found it its actually vertical banding...its sort of a defect found in LCDs. is there anyway to fix that..i dont want to return the tv, i love it, i dont know if i can anyway.

Default vertical banding

Purchased ln-t4061f samsung lcd in dec 07. First signs of banding appeared 4-09 and have gotta progressivley worse. After crying like small child to Samsung they agreed to repair problem even though tv was out-of-warranty. lvds cable and T-con board were replaced 1st and still same problem. Lcd panel being replaced next week. Im sure this is the correction but I will let you know more then. Good Luck

What about color banding? I have a Sony KDL-40V3000 and I see it during CGI images only. Anything not CGI I haven't noticed it yet. I am assuming that there are colors in the image that my TV just can't reproduce? The TV has a 10-bit processor and panel.

Thanks!
