There's another 1/4 of a movie from Spielberg. The section with the airplane is one of most memorable things on film for me (no spoilers though).

Funnily enough, we're getting quite a bit of Spielbergish news lately!

Spielberg really directed 'The Poltergeist' since he did quite a large amount of the scenes, Tobe Hooper wasn't doing a great job from what I know.

Warner Home Video has announced that they will bring 'Twilight Zone: The Movie' to Blu-ray on October 9th. The film features the works of four great filmmakers - John Landis, Steven Spielberg, Joe Dante and George Miller - each having their own segment. No specs or extra features have been announced at this time. From Bluray.com



I haven't seen this one in a long time, but it's great to see these titles announced so rapidly!!!

UPS just dropped off the Twilight Zone Movie from Warner. It was sent next day air.

Last time, I received a shipping e-mail with tracking number a day after I received the delivery !

I didn't ask for next day air, Warner sent it that way. I guess they are making up for the problems last week

That's quite nice of them. I ordered it from a different place. I've tried to order some from Warner Bros. in the past but apparently they don't ship to Canada.

Well at least we know it has been released !

Amazon still lists it as ships in 8 to 14 days, but the status on my order says "Items shipping soon" now instead of "items not yet shipped" It is the only item on the order, so I guess it might ship tomorrow.

Twilight Zone The Movie has always in my mind been somewhat controversial because of the very serious accident and yet i find i am still considering buying the Blu Ray. What do you guy's feel about this?

After seeing a recent interview with John Landis about his book of horror movies i kind of think no one in particular was to blame for what happened?

If you like the movie and enjoy it, then buy it. It's not like you had anything to do with what happened on the making of the movie some 30 years ago...

Personally, I can't say much about what happened in regards to that helicopter tragedy since I wasn't there, and had nothing to do with it. Obviously, it was an accident, as has been the case on any number of films in which people have been killed during production... Do I feel Landis was responsible for the deaths? To a certain degree, yes, since it is ultimately the director's responsibility to ensure a safe work environment, especially during risky stunt sequences in which not only cast-members, but children (regardless of whether or not they're legally employed), are involved...Whatever the case, it was clearly an accident and a terrible tragedy, and precautions should have been taken that clearly weren't. But because of it, there has also probably been many lives saved on films that have been made since, due to changes in film-production laws because of that tragedy.

Yeah... you probably don't want to open this can of worms again (especially as you are in the software section), as the debate gets extremely heated. Personally. I think its a shame we will never see SE content on this title due to the heat.
