This is the type of movies we need to see more on BD. For me personaly I will not buy it as it's truly not a favorite of mine. I wish however I could see it in HD.

I'm sure the movie itself will look good, but it's too bad Warner didn't opt for the original poster art. This looks more like a promotion for a remake, not something to promote the David Lean classic.
In any case, I'm sure the Blu-ray will be a great introduction for many people towards the movie, even for me. Somehow I never watched this movie, but since it's Lean we're talking about, it will be good.
Blu-ray releases should be perfect representations of their cinema counterparts.

Ive seen the movie several times ove the years. It has a beautiful music score and powerful performances by the actors including Alec Guiness! Im looking forward to adding this to my collection.

The girl's boyfriend has an annoying speaking voice, though.

"Can she play? Why, she's an artist!"

I hope this gets released sooner than later.

Far and away my favorite David Lean film. I love the story of the Russian Revolution told through the eyes of Zhivago and Lara characters.

Also happens to be my favorite Maurice Jarre.

I'm not sure how I've missed seeing this movie over the years; but it's Lean, so I foresee yet another blind buy in my future.

Definitely upgrading for this. Though I find the Julie Christie theme very annoying. And I was disheartened to hear that this is Chief Justice John Roberts' favorite film (just kidding).

This is a MUST OWN for me even though I prefer the original poster art (I own the original poster & lobby card set). Although this movie isn't as true to the book as the much longer BBC version, I still think this is among the best that David Lean directed!
The Alamo, Black Rain (Jp), Far from the Madding Crowd, Gray Lady Down, The Incredible Shrinking Man, Interrupted Melody, Lust for Life, Mississippi Burning, Moby Dick (Gregory Peck), The Other Sister, Ryan's Daughter, Searching for Bobby Fischer, Sink the Bismarck, Swing Kids, Testament, Them, They Died With Their Boots On, The Thing from Another World, War of the Worlds (Orig.) & When Worlds Collide

You mean "Lara's Theme" - one of the most famous pieces of music in movie history?

Does anyone know if this will be in Warner's 8K restoration line like Gone with the Wind, The Wizard of Oz and North by Northwest?

Even if it isn't 8K I'm hoping it'll at least be a brand new transfer with similar picture quality.
