anybody else interested in getting the hong kong version? i don't know if the pq is improved but the aq definetly improved. so i will most likely grabbed this version.

Pulled the trigger a few days ago and preordered the HK blu. even if its an upscale, being 1080p automaticly makes it better than DD's disc.

Pro-B recently mentioned to me he had received a shipment of some new Asian releases, so there will be some new upcoming reviews soon.

i didn't realize it until i saw it listed under pre-order titles.
no word on hard boiled but im sure it will be.
i did notice that yesasia.com had the blu-ray version of john woo's once a thief region A. might grab that also.

That's not true. I hope it is better, but most BDs of catalog HK titles are pretty shoddy.

Yeah being 1080p doesn't do anything as long as the source is messed up. AQ isn't guaranteed better either just because they do Dolby true hd on a lousy mono/stereo source. But I really hope this is even a little better than the awful US disc.

Cantonese language with Japanese subtitles. I'll have to pass on this one.
