Default Chasing Amy or 500 Days of Summer?

Which do you prefer? Please only vote if you've seen both.

I bought both the other day and realized they're pretty comparable. For one, they both show how a girl can get to a guy. And how he can learn from it.

The latter is a more believable story, and I related with the characters much more.

(500) Days of Summer gets my vote I just thought it was a better movie al around. I like the storytelling better and it was more realistic with the ups and downs. Good Question

The 2nd to last scene in Chasing Amy has never worked for me. Without going into spoilers for the 5 people out there who still haven't seen it, it's where Holden suggests his "plan" to Alyssa and Banky. I never bought that Holden would be THAT stupid and insecure to come up with an idea like that and think she'd actually go for it.

On the other hand, everything in (500) Days of Summer worked. Maybe it's an easier story to relate to since it doesn't have the added baggage of bisexuality thrown in like Chasing Amy, but it resonated a lot more with me.

If you have to go with one, get (500) Days of Summer. But Chasing Amy is still a terrific film and worth owning on Blu-ray if your budget allows.

Spoiler? Kinda redundant to say that because people coming here probably have seen both...

Spoiler:
I was offended by the grocery store scene in 500 days.
After the breakup, he decided to buy a bottle of Jack Daniel's and a crapload of Twinkies to ease his pain.
My initial reaction was, "wtf, that's me in normal setting, I drink Jack and eat twinkies daily"......

Chasing Amy, so funny.
500 Days of Summer was okay, but for me I'm glad I rented it because I wouldn't buy it. Great soundtrack though, love The Temper Trap.

Chasing Amy is the better movie, but 500 days is the better blu-ray. Just stick with the Criterion DVD of Chasing Amy.

Chasing Amy has a little more real feeling for me.. its just sad and im sure happens to a lot of people.. 500 days of summer is also another real movie, but i really cant stand watching Zooey Doeschel (however you spell her name) on the big screen, shes really annoying.. they are both great movies though, but Chasing Amy gets the edge

I prefer Chasing Amy slightly over 500 Days of Summer.

Chasing Amy has better dialogue/story. 500 Days Of Summer has much better performances, but is a bit more depressing.

I love both, but I choose (500) Days of Summer. I do love Amy, but Summer is better and one of my favorite movies.

I saw Chasing Amy the year it came out. Thought it was pretty good.

I saw (500) Days of Summer a couple months ago. Thought it was INCREDIBLE.

(500) hands down!
