I'm looking to pick up Casino Royale but don't know which version to get. I don't care about extras, and the first one is cheaper. Does one version have superior A/V quality to the other or are both about the same?

Yeah, but the reviewer of the collecters edition has seen both versions and reports the collecters to have an improvment in Audio

I have the Thai uncut movie-only DVD and the uncut two-disc Australian DVD with poker set in a aluminum case.
I wanted to hold out for the Aussie import but perusing the Walmart Black Friday displays, I found the US two-disc collector's edition Blu-ray for $10. I will never be able to get the Aussie release for that low. Right now, most Walmarts have it for the normal price of $15 so if you can get the Aussie release for that low then get the Aussie release. If not, the US two-disc set is the better value. |

The C.E is less than $15 at Wal-Mart right now, so for a $2-3 difference i would definitely go for that one, rather than the first release. I haven't heard the LPCM 5.1 (48kHz, 16-bit) AQ from the non C.E version but the Dolby TrueHD 5.1 definitely sounds fantastic. Anyway, like i said, for a mere $2-3 difference i'd go for the C.E.

If I recall it's under a minute?
My name is Patrick Bateman. I'm 27 years old. I believe in taking care of myself and a balanced diet and rigorous exercise routine. In the morning, if my face is a little puffy, I'll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now. |

There are some pretty obvious cuts (jumps) in the first cue of the score though that I found distracting and would rather have the uncut version for that alone.

- Reciever: Onkyo TX-NR808 - Speakers: Klipsch Synergy 1 Series (7) - Subs: 2 Yamaha YST-SW315 - TV: Panasonic TH-58PZ800u Plasma |
