Looking foward to this! One of my favorite crime dramas!

Lionsgate Home Entertainment will bring the acclaimed indie crime drama 'King of New York' to Blu-ray this October.

Starring Christopher Walken and Laurence Fishburne, 1990's 'King of New York' has long been a cult favorite, and been described by many as "the greatest Scorsese crime drama Scorsese never made" (it was, in fact, directed by fellow New York auteur Abel Ferrera).

Lionsgate will debut the film on Blu-ray October 23, in a newly-remastered 1080p video with DTS and Dolby Digital tracks (exact tech specs still TBA).

What supplements, if any, to be included on the release also remain unannounced. We'll keep you posted.

List price will go for a suggested $29.95.

In anticipation of final specs for 'Kings of New York,' we've added a new listing for the title to our Blu-ray Release Schedule, under October 23. Watch this space..

It was on the second page; on a quick day like this, news threads can be pushed into the back pages rather quickly. And with three hundred hddvd attacks trying to subjugate 300 blus sales...

I have the King of New York on dvd, and I am wondering if anyone has compared the dvd to the blu-ray and is it a considerable upgrade from the dvd?
