I check out the BD-Live features on nearly every BD I have. I find great value in much of it. I also have big hopes for its capabilities.
Java, in and of itself, is not a great standard. I'm not sure how hardware manufactures are implementing the BD-J "standard", but I know that once players' firmwares are updated, the BD-Live content works (keep in mind that the content/disc hasn't changed). This would lead me to the believe that the discs are being properly programmed. Most of all, I just think that Java is not the best programming language for this type of thing, but, it's nice that we are now an online world and we can get firmware updates to address these incompatibilities.
