Default Burn a DVD from a DVR

Is there a way to burn programs recorded on my DVR to a DVD-R? I have some shows like the RnR Hall of Fame concert (WHICH IS AMAZING) and hockey games that I want to save on discs just to make room on my DVR.

I use a Motorola DCH6416 HD Dual Tuner DVR.

Any solutions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Luc

I can do it from my dvr which is a Samsung. I have audio video outputs on the back of my dvr that I attach cables from to the audio video inputs of my dvd recorder which is a Magnovox. Then I just put the TV output to whatever the dvd recorder is hooked up to and you should be all set.

Atreyu,
I can't saved the shows to a hard drive/memory card, then transfer to the computer to burn? I don't have a separate dvd recorder, just my pc.

not to thread jack, but on the same "basis" as this, is it possible to hook up an external Hard drive to the back of it?

I see a SATA plug on the back of my Scientific atlantis 8300 HD and I did google and found some hard drives for it, but wondering if any would work.

Mine has the same option. I also have two USB inputs, I'm assuming for HDD space.

That's what I do. I have a Sony DVD recorder and this system for recording works great.

I back in Hawaii, I had my cable box hooked to my computer's capture device via RCA cords; the yellow, red, and white cords.

Luckily, I have an old Humax Tivo on my back TV that has a built in DVD burner. I don't think they make them anymore. It is not HD, but it is good for burning history stuff for class.

I do think you can get stuff off the regular DVR and onto DVR or your computer, but I don't know how. I did a quick Google search and found several methods.
My set-up:
*Samsung PN60E550 (3D, Plasma)
*DirectTV HD-DVR
*Sony BDP-S360
*Samsung 3D player
*Denon E200 with Sony speakers
*PS4, Ouya, and Nintendo Wii

Just buy a standalone dvd recorder. I have a Toshiba D-R400 and it works great. I mainly use it to transfer vhs home videos, but you can burn from dvr too.

Thanks guys.

Buying a stand alone DVD burner is out of the question because I'm not sure I'll use it a lot. I pretty much only want to burn the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame Concert to a DVD.

So what the heck are the USB ports on my DVR for?

Off for more answers.

Luc

OHH.. and since the the RnRHoF concert is in HD DD5.1, will it burn that way... if I ever get it to work? I have some HD format (screen ratio) hockey games burned on DVDs.
