Battlestar Galactica Season 2 coming to Blu on April 6th - Blu-ray Forum

TVShowsonDVD reports that the complete Season 2 of the critically-acclaimed series is coming to Blu on April 6th and with retail at a SRP of $89.98. (which kind of makes the price for the first season a bit high, if you ask me, although the first season is equivalent to 17 episodes when you count the "4-hour" run time of the mini-series), so the same price for 20 episodes isn't that bad.

So looks like I'll be buying this series in its single season sets rather than going the clunky series set box with no epsiode listings. Let's just hope they reissue Season 4 as a single set rather than just issue a Season 4.0 to fill out the 4.5 set.

So they are releasing it as one set? Not 2.0 and 2.5? That's great! It would be nice if they released season 4.0 b/c several people have already purchased 4.5. It's really a shame they've made such a cluster F*!# out of this whole .0 and .5 crap, b/c I would like a complete season rather than having two half seasons taking up room. It's just really stupid. BTW it's "critically acclaimed" not "critically-claimed".

If you look at this press release, it seems that the seasons will be released individually four months apart. Season One hit in January. Season Two in April. Season Three in August. Season Four hopefully by December.

I can deal with that....as long as Season Four is the complete season.

Cover art now available at the previous link. Looks great. Yep, looks like I'll be upgrading. Hell, I never got around to watching my 4.5 DVD set, as I upgraded to Blu shortly after it came out. Couldn't bring myself to watch the show on reg. DVD.

I'm glad they'll be releasing all the seasons individually (cough* 24 *cough) s I don't have to buy that atrocious complete series box set.

LOL i hope you guys know that for the price of 2 season here in the states you can buy the entire series, including RAZOR for 148$US shipped from UK...

yeah we know that, I prefer buying them individually when they are released. And yes I know they are more expensive.

Even HBO has lowered the prices of their series!!!
I want to get them but at those prices I'll just wait!

Season Two will be the same price as Season One. That is the MSRP, which is the same for both seasons. I agree that they are too high, but once they come down in price, they are mine.

The SRP on Rome is $140
Band of Brothers is $100
True Blood S1 & S2, Generation Kill, and John Adams are $80
Sopranos S1 and S6 pt 1/2 are $70

Since when did HBO lower their prices?
These are normal suggested retail prices for TV series. Just because BSG has an SRP of $90 doesn't mean that's what it will cost you from a retailer (it won't).

That is true, but for some reason Battlestar Galactica isn't being discounted like some of the others. I realize it's the stores themselves, but this shouldn't be this expensive regardless when you aren't getting much more than you are with other TV sets that are a lot cheaper.

It literally just came out a week ago. I'm sure discounts are inevitable.
