We need this show on Blu-Ray. It's a great show and, judging from the USA broadcasts, would:
A.) look pretty darn good. B.) be absolutely possible, since even the first episode (Yankee White) was in HD, meaning it's just a matter of transfering to Blu discs. Anyone else want to see Team Gibbs on Blu?

I was watching NCIS on USA HD and, during a commercial, channel surf until I came to an HD showing of a JAG episode. It was second part of the two-parter that introduced Team Gibbs. It was cool to finally see this episode and see where NCIS started, pre Kate and Ziva. It's also important as the statement "all of the NCIS episodes are in HD" now includes the two JAG episodes (JAG does look like a good show by itself too). Just thought I let it be known.

I didn't want to start a new thread for this, but here's some news: The 7th season of NCIS and the 1st season of NCIS LA are coming to DVD:
NCIS: http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/NCI...Season-7/13873 NCIS LA: http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/NCI...Season-1/13872 Notice you didn't read anything about Blu-Ray. The word that comes to mind is "grr" and "rawr". Going to have to stick with CBS HD and USA HD for HD NCIS.

Good news!
![]() http://tvshowsondvd.com/news/NCIS-Lo...-Blu-ray/14010 In short, NCIS LA is coming to Blu. Hopefully, it means NCIS is coming to Blu, or at least the pilot episodes for LA (which were NCIS episodes) are included in HD. Great news.

I respectfully disagree, my friend. If you check the ratings, you will find that the original NCIS ratings is usually higher than NCIS LA. There are many people that love the original show but couldn't care less about the spin-off (myself included). As a matter of fact, it puzzles me as to why they chose to release the spin-off first. Maybe their reasoning is that if people buy the spin-off they will certainly buy the original. The fact is that many people won't buy NCIS LA simply because they don't like it, but if they released the original NCIS, that a lot of people would buy.

I'd really would buy this if its on blu.
Also, maybe as a special feature they should include the episodes that were on JAG that feature NCIS Quote:

This is another "don't hold your breath" scenario...
They did release NCIS: LA season 1 on Blu... but then went to DVD-only with season 2... which kind of tells me that IF they were testing the waters, the waters were too cold... so not much hope left for NCIS seasons on Blu at this point.
The Forum is about to be rewritten by two guys who can't spell.

I think the studios are starting to cool over the idea of releasing their TV shows to Blu-ray. They're actually making more money on the DVD releases then they are on the Blu-ray releases.
Take a look at such shows as "The Unit" (Seaosn 4) and "Bones" (Seasons 4-current), released to Blu-ray but that earlier seasons have not yet been released. NCIS, Smallville, Babylon 5 and many other shows will probably never see a release to Blu-ray. Stargate SG1, Babylon 5 and Smallfille have been cited as "remastering nightmares" for the studios because the costs involved would be prohibitive for the studios. I just have never warmed to NCIS: LA because it's just not that interesting to me as the core NCIS series is. |
