Default The official "Is this title coming on Blu-ray?" thread

It seems the BD version won't be available for these old epic movies like Gladiator, Troy, and Braveheart. The movie Kingdom of Heaven is superblous.... has lovely video quality and addicting like a drug...

I demand the movie Gladiator, Troy, and the all mightie Braveheart to be released in BD format. I think it has been enough time pass... it's time, and I don't want to wait any longer. Stop releasing poor quality movies and get some real movies out, please. Anyone has insight on this? any forecast on what the plans are for these titles?

you simply said you are tired of poor quality releases. im telling you that is simply not true. i was merely trying to play off of your demand for better titles. that being said, universal/dreamworks is handling gladiator. there is a good chance we won't see it until universal goes neutral. as for braveheart and troy, no idea. i believe warner is screwing us on troy though as it has been released on hd-dud.

Gladiator was a joint Dreamworks/Universal venture, but Dreamworks owns the video right, so there will be a BD. No excuse for Troy not being released unless Warner is waiting for Director's cut.?

Hello. First time poster, longtime reader. Just wanted to get a presence here since I am a hard core Blu-Ray supporter as are the rest of you guys. Wanted to point out that Braveheart is actually a Paramount title, not Dreamworks, at least on the home video side of things.

Welcome, Braveheart is, indeed, a Paramount release.

That's what I was thinking. Wouldn't it be funny if we get the DC and the HD-DVD camp is stuck with the version in which you don't see her boobies?

Braveheart and Gladiator are definitely musts. Troy on the other hand, kinda weak for an "epic". But it served its purpose. I am new to the Blu-ray scene, but I have whole-heartedly supported this format since the beginning. Can't wait to build my collection. I will definitely be more selective about what I purchase this go round.

Default Is this movie coming out on Blu-ray?

Michael Mann's "Heat" from 1995. It's a WB release, but I have yet to see official word of a Blu-ray release. It's my favorite movie, and I'm really hoping it comes out in High Def.

Thanks in Advance.

Oh yeah, I'd love to get this. One of Al Pacino's better movies, as well as the rest of the cast. Does anyone know off hand the studio that puts out Oliver Stone's movies? I'd bet Natural Born Killers, JFK, and the Doors, would look incredible on BD.
