Sigh... now I don't know what to do. Really want Traffic and Out of Africa. The Bourne disc "compatibility reports" have not boosted my confidence in the flipper format considering there are so many ways to get plain BDs of the same films that not many people here took a chance on the flippers. Guess these titles will be the first REAL test.

universal is like a stubborn child. they insist on pushing their corporate
flipper strategy, even though the public hates it!! having a dumb idea and just insisting its good no matter what: dumb!! no other studio is doing flippers..not even warner! even they were smart enough to release combo sets instead. even from a production cost standpoint, it would guess it is cheaper to simply add the dvd version from the huge warehouse stockpiles, rather than investing in a new flipper blu technology that no other studio shares! if corporations would use more common sense, the country would be in a better position! |

SONS OF BI***ES! I want The Jackal, but not as a flipper. Maybe I should import the German release of the film then.

Thank goodness they're not doing 'Apollo 13' as a flipper! That would have really infuriated me. I might have considered buying 'Traffic' as a normal BD, but I can save my money if it's going to be a flipper - I'll just keep my Criterion DVD.

The Jackal wasn't absolutely horrible, but I wish Universal would release the original on Blu-ray. The Day of the Jackal is a much better movie. You get a better story, Michael Lonsdale and no really, really bad accents.
Out of Africa is a good movie, but it's in my "once is enough" category. Traffic is one of those movies that was really good but emotionally exhausting. I don't know if I could ever watch it again.
