What ruined my night (need a little sympathy)

Hey, I just got the God Of War remastered collection, and while this has been one of my favorite action games, my problem has nothing to do with the remastering or the graphics being outdated, but it actually a problem with my Sixaxis controller; My left analog stick cannot go upper left and upper right, making not only platforming frustrating, but make parts of the game unplayable, such as fighting medusa, which requires the left stick to twist and I cannot make it twist because the stick can't go the direction I wanted, I been trying methods to get around but that is the only way I could do it. This is the perfect excuse to replace it with a Dualshock 3. I just have not played video games in a while, but this ruined my night.

You can take the controller apart and re-seat the analog hubs, i did that and it fixed a broken 360 controller. Best to just go buy a dual shock 3 already tho, you want that rumble for massive damage.

I'm a cheap bastard, so I'm interested in this, but I might end up buying another dualshock. How do you do this though?
