No probs. For what it's worth, I'm happy with the UK version of the film, I think it looks great. Each to their own, I guess.

I have the UK disk, and just watched the one hour "making of" feature. The scenes from the film presented in the "making of" seemed sharper and more 3 dimensional than the same scenes in the main feature. I am assuming that the scenes in the making of are taken from the US encode...

Exactly. I don't know how the US release is superior

Is there any kind of juddering issue on the UK Blu? A couple of reviews on Amazon allude to it, but don't mention exactly where. Don't know whether to get the UK or US version Uk one is under Ł6 now
My Blu-ray wish list: Roman Holiday, Cinema Paradiso (Director's cut), Before Sunrise/Sunset, Punch-drunk love, Remains of the day, The Straight story, Wallace & Gromit: The curse of the were-rabbit, The Abyss, Anatomy of a murder, Team America: World Police, The Odd Couple, The Man who wasn't there, Gods and Monsters, Judgement at Nuremberg

Check the screencaps site linked earlier in this thread. The UK disk is fantastic, but the US disk is sharper with more natural film grain and better detail.

This isn't true. Anyhow, I think that it is time that we finally get this UK review up. Coming up this later this week

+1. To my eyes, I couldn't really see a difference in PQ between this release and the US one anyway, which is why I'm happy with this.

The high-definition transfer uses the same impressive restoration of this beautiful Technicolor film which Paramount Pictures used for their Blu-ray release in the United States.

Unlike the American release, this release gets a lossless audio track which I am confident film purists will be very pleased with.

The UK Blu-ray release of John Huston's The African Queen has two key advantages over the U.S. release - it comes with a good lossless audio track and a very strong audio commentary by the late Jack Cardiff.
