So, who here played a Virtual Boy?

I remember trying it out in Toys R Us "demo station" and getting a headache within 10 minutes of playing Mario Tennis...anyone here brave enough to admit they owned one?

I'll always applaud Nintendo for trying something new and crazy, but I wonder what was going through (or on sorry, terrible pun) their heads....I don't remember if VB did multiplayer (I assume so), but can you imagine seeing 2 kids sitting in a living room with those giant helmets on them Reminds me of something I would have seen in Back to the Future Part II.

my brother had one and absolutely loved it. it messed up my eyes and gave me headaches though.

I used to own one... left it at my friends house and I haven't seen it since. I think it permanently ****ed up my vision a bit...

i still have mine. well, i didn't buy it when they first came out, but i'm a collector, so it was one i picked up along the way

I played it a couple times, at demo spots like Toys R Us or whatever video game store had it at the time. I thought it was cool for its spatial effects; however, obviously the world wasn't ready for it. I think there was potential for something like that, even though it didn't make it. I know I was kind of put off by having to "wear" something in order to play with it. It's probably why 3D will never catch on with me when it comes to home theater movies unless we can do away with the glasses.

I had one, bought it with my own money when I was like 12 or so. I only had 2 games, mario tennis and something else.

I remember thinking it was fun but I could never play with anyone so it got boring quick. That and the only color the games came in was red. I would like to try one again though just for old-times sake.

Well i own one, it's standing behind me on my second desk.
I still play it sometimes, i still find it quite good console, i still don't understand why people always say they get headache's... I can play it for hours without a stop and still don't have any problems, the only thing that annoys my eyes is going from the black screen to a sun filled room!

Well I was only 10 or something when it first came out, so at the time, it was a massive box attached to my head and I remember it feeling awkward and frustrating to play. I'm sure that's what gave me a headache more than anything else I haven't played it since that day in Toys R Us, so I would be interested to see how I'd react to it today.

I am brave enough to admit that I not only owned one, I still do! But, I know better than to play it. It's probably the reason I have glasses. (J/K)

Is that the one that you had to strap on your head and it had a little lens that flipped down. Everything was red. I think I actually remember that. I had a friend who had one and I'd go over to his house and check it out. I remember it sucking pretty badly.

I still have one, because I kind of collect games, without really collecting them (I just don't like getting rid of them).

Back when it first came out, I rented one from Blockbuster. I hated that it was too bulky/heavy to actually wear on your head. I imagine you could wear it, but I only played it while it was on a stand.

At some point Blockbuster wanted to get rid of them, so I ended up buying one for some insanely low price, with money I had saved up (I was a kid, obviously).

The only game I actually like (and still play, once in a rare while) is Mario Tennis.
