Default Bon Jovi: Live at Madison Square Garden

Although not a die hard fan I just noticed this blu in Amazon UK and I would like to import but before that I'd like to ask anybody here in the US if it is a region free BD plus what do you guys think about the audio/video quality of this release. I checked a few web sites for the region code and apparently is not on their data base.
Please help.

Yep, sorry guys I did not check the users review only the Amazon.UK site which sometimes is not the best source but if the BD package states Region 0 that's good enough for me.

I have had this disk for a couple weeks and although my wife and I enjoyed the show, for a Blu-ray I would give the video 3.5 - 4 stars, and the audio about 4. The video was better than a DVD by a long shot, but I have (or have seen) many other Blu concerts with much better PQ. The same for the audio; good, but I have many other Blu concerts with more impressive mixing. Just no WOW factor for me like some of my best concert Blu's. If you like BJ, go for it; it is the best concert recording I have seen of them.

Oddly, after watching this concert we watched "Celine: Through the Eyes of the World" the next evening and my wife even commented how much better the PQ of the concert footage was vs. the BJ Concert. (Celine's new disk contains concert video and considerable non-concert video so the PQ & AQ varies depending on the specific situation.)

Off subject, but I wish reviewers/commenters would start using a 10 point scale instead of 5 points. It is hard to down grade a Blu disk without giving a star rating that many would consider harsh, or DVD level. For example a 5-star DVD would be about a 5 or 6 on a ten point scale for a Blu disk. I am a total music fanatic of all kinds, but my heart lies in the old school rock. Yes I am 50 yrs. old and have seen and own alot of BD concerts. I am a Bon Jovi fan and have seen him in concert back in the late 80s when they were just getting started. Anyway this BD of John and the boys as far as I am concerned is barely adequate. The only thing that it has going for it is that the HD camera work throughout the show is very detailed, and it is region free. Having said that I will give the PQ a 4.0 because of the detailed image. The AQ is where I have a real problem. Dolby 5.1 True HD is very weak and lacks everything you come to expect in a rock concert setting. I have never been a big fan of Dolby True HD audio in Movies either because it almost always lacks the punch that you expect for HD audio such as DTS MA, and PCM audio. I am not trashing Dolby True HD audio because I have heard some very potent Dolby True HD movie tracks before, just not very many. So for the AQ I give it a 3.0 " SORRY ". Actually the biggest problem with this entire concert really is the show itself. Yes I know that they are New Jersey boys so they had to fill the entire arena " behind the stage too" so everyone could see the hometown hero make them proud. Having said that you would think that the boys would have put on an explosive show for the town they grew up in , but they did not. The set list was good and they played all of the great hits that put them on the top but here is where we have another BIG PROBLEM and that is some of the great songs performed during the concert was cut out of the show but you can go the special features on the main menu and see these songs that was cut out of the show, and one of the songs shot during the concert which is the very last song of the concert you cannot see " it plays in the background as the credits are rolling. STUPID AS HELL!!!!!!! Anyway if you are a real big fan of Bon Jovi then you will probably like this BD disc but I am warning you that the show, audio, and the production and editing of this concert just plain SUCKS. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!
FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT AND NEVER SURRENDER
