They aren't the same movie.


LotR is the closest to being just one movie....but it isn't. Some fans just like to look at it as one.

Do you have any proof to back up your "FACT" comment? like say anything from George Lucas saying even though each movie continues the same story that they are separate entities?

I don't understand why this is even an argument, they are two different films, period. The end.
Godfather I and II aren't the same film, Alien and Aliens aren't the same film, hell, Bill and Ted 1 and 2 aren't the same film.


Being part of a series of films (it is called a SERIES for a reason, it is more than one film) does not make everything in it one single film. One big story? Usually, yes. One movie? Of course not, that's ludicrous.


This has to be without a doubt the most pointless and strange debate I've ever been a part of....
