Will they ever release A Bitter Sweet Life on BD? This is a fantastic movie and has some beautiful cinematography. Who owns the rights to this movie? I would think that it might come out one day because they have already released A Tale of Two Sisters on BD and thats also by the same director. Any info would be cool.

@OddOne: Will that movie ever be released on Canadian or American BD uncut? How much does the Tale of Two Sisters BD cost in Canadian dollars? What company and country offers it?

A Tale of Two Sisters was released in the U.K. by Tartan and it is region B locked. Also, the quality apparently isn't very good. There's a review on DVDBeaver.com.

I'd love to have a (good quality) Blu-ray of both this and A Bittersweet Life.

Amazing movie, i watched the dvd last night and i was curious if this would ever get released on blu-ray.

been waiting to hear about this release as well!!! one of our favorite korean flicks... lossless audio would rock our faces with this film.

talked with some of the Tartan people by email and we were told that A Tale of Two Sisters will probably not get an upgrade because the print was pretty messed up to begin with when it was released on the now out of print UK version. So i guess we can all just hope and pray these both get nice releases sometime in the near future :-(.

Just as a note, there is a Japanese version coming out in October. However, it is not English friendly nor does it have lossless audio. Korean lossy DTS-ES 6.1 and DD 6.1 EX audio with Korean and Japanese subs.

Well that's great news nevertheless ! This movie has an outstanding cinematography that would fit perfectly with bluray quality !

Let's just hope it's not a bad transfer as it was the case with his previous movie a Tale of Two Sisters ( stil can't beleive just incredible film has not a good copy ...)

CJ Entertainment will eventually release this title on BD..it's just a matter of time.

Latest info on Pony Canyon's site says that it (product code PCXG-50030) does have Dolby TrueHD 6.1 (original Korean) audio. Additionally there are 2 Korean commentary tracks (stereo only). Just Japanese and Korean subs. (There's also another listing for the same title with product code PCXG-70030 on their site which still doesn't list lossless audio and has no MRSP either, I'm not sure what that version is all about).

It would be unusual for Pony Canyon not to include lossless audio... I think it was just some spec misinformation on their site regarding the audio specs.

Korean Blu-ray forum member is reporting that Eins will release Bittersweet Life in 2 disc "SteelBook" packaging on November 19, 2010.

DVD Prime thread on Bittersweet Life Release

Subsequent discussion seem to indicate that this may not come in a genuine SteelBook case, but some type of knock-off (?IronPack).

Eins released The Hurt Locker in a "real" SteelBook...so who knows?

If it is true, then I hope they make My Sassy Girl in steelbook...the original had a tin case, limited edition 3 discs set, etc.

Same here, I was hoping for a CJ digipak.

Eins M&M is korean also, so a CJ digipak is unlikely to happen. Possibly no english subs and then we're screwed altogether.
