Default TRON scheduled to air on HDNET Tonight

HDNet is about to "Premiere" a new High-Definition version of the classic 80's hit Tron in just a few minutes - This is likely to be the same HD version being prepped for a future Blu release in order to promote the upcoming TRON Legacy sequel

Let us know how it is. The original is very cheesy to look at today but maybe the HD can do wonders.

I've never seen this movie (I was 20 days old when it came out) so I set a recording for it. I've heard good things about it but I never got around to renting it.

uh I have Charter and I get HDNEt....and HDnet movies. maybe you should call them..

anyway, I dvr'd it but only watched about 20 minutes live, then I watched Clash of the Titans on blu with the wife.

TRON looked as good as can be expected for something of that age and budget.

definite grain throughout most of it, the scenes in the game looked very cool, should be a good BD transfer based on what I saw(if that is a reliable way to gauge the transfer)

I just scanned through it a bit. It is definitely brighter than I remember. The last time I saw it the red "programs" were pinkish and the blue "programs" were a washed out blue. To me it looks a lot better and if the Blu-ray is at least this good I'll be happy.

if the BD is not at least as good as the HDnet broadcast then it will be due to some big failure in the transfer process, right? nothing else?

I saw this on as it was ending and thought it looked awesome, then I turned it off so as not to spoil it. Now I find out it's not even on blu-ray? When can I see this movie in HD?

Missed this yesterday...Will they show it again? HDNET usually shows the same shows over and over I think right?

It would almost have to be. I hope whoever handles it keeps their mitts of the DNR dial. I don't want to say I was blown away yet, because I only watched a total of 10-15 minutes total. But it definitely looked very good from what I saw. The scene where Sark was in the lightcycle grid at the beginning has never looked better IMO.
