It seems that either Buena Vista had decided on locking titles for release in the UK early on, a decision which was later changed, or they did so simply to limit importing to the US which was released later that year.

All in all there are a couple of reasons why it might have happened but those seem to be the most reasonable ones.
Thanks for the explanation, makes a bit more sense now.

I'd try and buy the UK set including the locked season 4, then try and pick up the region A season 4 set and sell the locked UK discs on Ebay and just put the US discs in the UK box. The US set is too expensive.

Are the UK and US editions exactly the same size?

I'm not sure, I'd take the discs from the US set and put them in the UK box so you wouldn't have to worry.

Odd. I can't see Amazon trying to re-package Japanese Blu's (other retailers have had it at the same or lower price as well), it must be an error at the authoring or packaging stage. If the discs have an English menu on them there should be a way to access it. Otherwise they might be Japanese only....

I checked all seasons to be sure, [checked 2 discs per season] and with every disc I checked I first have to choose the language, English, there are many more to choose from.

I'm happy for me but this sucks for you of course and all those other Lost fans who have this problem.

That is a strange problem and can definitely see why you are having problems trying to navigate and find episodes. Maybe you could persuade some members to post pictures of the disc menus in English to assist with navigating in whichever language its defaulting to.

Wish I could help but I'm getting it as an xmas present, if no one has posted any by then send me a PM and I'll post some off-screen photos (best I can do I'm afraid).

What I don't understand is why couldn't they just redesign the artwork and cases so that at least they would look like they belong together. Now every case has a different looking spine.

Looking at that picture, why haven't they but the Blu-ray sign on the top of the spine like they do on the front? We could have avoided all these hideous Blu banners if they'd made the case a lit bit elaborate.

Disney and Blu-ray cover designs and the Mysterious of the Universe, I wonder which one is pondered the most?

Yeah if someone can post the screen shots it would be really great. This problem is only with Season 1,2 and 3. I haven't checked season 4 since it Region B locked and I have Region A player. But Season 5 and 6 are fine, when pop the disc in it asks for the language and its good from there...If anyone is interested in screen shots please let me know i can provide !!!

Would really appreciate if someone can post the screen shots of menu options for the first 3 seasons !!!
