I heard it's coming out around Christmas time this year, with a 3D version also. Don't forget holiday movies when first released on video generally come out the next holiday season. After all how many people are gonna buy a Christmas movie in say April or May?

It would make a lot of sense to wait until November or so for Holiday sales. There will also been some 3D set-ups in place by that time. The movie itself it average, not great, and would have low sales any time outside of the holiday season. Also, this movie, imho, relies a great deal on the 3D gimmick to make up for flaws in the movie.

I saw it at the cinema and enjoyed it. I will likely buy the BD for the bonus features. I enjoy watching and comparing the different Christmas Carol films over the decades, but I wouldn't put this version up with my top choices. What I did like about it was that it stayed true to the book in many instances, but so did Patrick Stewart's version, which I preferred. Anyway, if they can put together a nice package with interviews, commentary, etc. I'll go for it.

I would. I loved this film! It was a brilliant interpretation of Dickens' classic. And it's from The Polar Express creator, so it has to be good. I eagerly await the release.

Any mention of 3D on that flyer? I swear that was one of the titles Disney said would get a 3D release.

They did, but there probably thinking of releasing the 3d version a year later to milk it for all it is worth.

Unless something changes this is suppose to be Disney's first Blu-ray 3D title, but still no mention of it being released alongside the standard Blu-ray and DVD...

"The Minneapolis Lakers moved to Los Angeles where there are no lakes. The Oilers moved to Tennessee were there is no oil. The Jazz moved to Salt Lake City where they don't allow music. The Oakland Raiders moved to L.A. and then back to Oakland; no one in Los Angeles seemed to notice. Continued expansion diluted the talent pool, forcing owners to recruit heavily from prisons, mental institutions, and Texas."

But it's much better to be released around this year's holiday season, definitely will make a lot more then being released around now.

Buying the 2D version no doubt. The PQ looks awsome. Just wish they would release A Chrsitmas Carol starring the legendary George C Scott on Blu as well. Thats my all time favorite holiday classic.
