if the transfer isn't what it should be...I'm definitely not buying...

I got burned on Gladiator and Gangs of NY....any movie that isn't recent will have to wait upon further review of the title before I buy it day 1 again...

and Caddyshack would be a day 1 purchase if I had any faith in a solid transfer...

Just make sure to set your expectations to "realistic". The movie doesn't look good at all on film

was even worse.

I watched a good documentary about this yesterday on the A&E channel I believe. It would make for a great extra. (Hint, hint WB.)

I'm glad that this is finally being released. I'm hoping Warner spent all of this extra time improving the transfer, but I'm expecting a HD-DVD port.

The HD DVD transfer is far from "rotten". It looks fine for a 1980 movie of this sort.

hmmm, no Caddyshack II? .... yes I know a suck-ass sequel, but it does have a few good laughs...all the scenes with Randy Quaid that is....

anywho, day 1 purchase for sure!

First up, Warner Home Video has officially announced the Blu-ray Disc debut of Caddyshack on 6/8 (SRP $24.98), just in time for the film's 30th Anniversary. The film had been previously released in HD-DVD, and has long been available on DVD. The new edition will include all the special features from the previous editions, along with the all-new Caddyshack: The 19th Hole documentary, as well as the film's theatrical trailer. From the press release, the 37-minute doc will include "featuring hilarious outtakes, rare footage and interviews with stars Chevy Chase and Cindy Morgan, producers Jon Peters and Mark Canton, and director Harold Ramis, along with other cast and creative team members recalling their on-set experiences."

That sentence I bolded makes no sense..."all the special features from the previous editions" IS The 19th Hole documentary and the theatrical trailer! Those were both on the DVD and HD DVD releases!

Unless they decided to make another documentary with the exact same name and almost identical content (from the description), then they are not actually adding ANYTHING new to the BD.....
