I have not, but I have compared the stereo & multi-channel on the SACD.

Although the stereo does sound VERY good, the multi-channel just really opens everything up.

Ah.. OK you convinced me it's been in my cart from amazon for awhile..
amazon.ca's cheapest used is $128CDN. Good thing I found someone on amazon.com that actually ships to Canada.

60 bucks shipped to Canada so it's pricey but not too bad I guess - takes 3-6 weeks to ship from the U.S though? Well.. I paid only $16 for Avalon Roxy Music for when it was still available so I'll pretend I never had that and bought both for $76 . I Can't believe that one's actually selling for over $300 used!!

WOW thanks for letting me know the price of Avalon!! I bought it in June 2009 for $14! Any one else own it? Are you going to sell it? Will the price/value go up or down?

The MFSL Gold CD is definitely the best when it comes to sound quality in stereo, but the SACD/DVD-A have an amazing surround mix that is definitely worth getting.

Yes, it was the surround mix on Sea Change that convinced me how important multichannel could be for artists looking to add another dimension to their studio recordings.

No prob I was surprised too when I saw that price!! I don't plan on selling it but I know it will only get harder to get a hold of so the price could rise - just don't know how many would spend that much for a CD. I probably won't ever pay over $50 again after buying Sea Change.

It is a great recording and is a plus that it will play on any CD player since the SACD version will not. I did notice it is a bit quieter than most of my CD's but plays very clean when turned up! This stereo on the MFSL almost feels like I'm listening to multi-channel I can only imagine what the SACD will sound like!

I've had it for some time now and I regret to say it's never made it into my player.

Default Beck - Sea Change

A big favorite of mine. The SACD is as good as the DVD-Audio.
And the CD is HDCD encoded. What a great production by one of the biggest recording engineer in the music recording business; High Res Mastering by Bob Ludwig for Gateway Mastering, and Surround Sound Mix by Elliot Scheiner.
Simply AWESOME on surround sound!

This is still the best blind buy I ever made on SACD. I was familiar with Beck but was more interested frankly because it was a pop SACD. The album just blew me away. I am listening to the MFSL gold CD right now, but the SACD is also awesome. This is an album meant to be heard in high-resolution.

Yes the first track is simply sumptuous, I couldn't believe I was listening to Beck when I first heard it, wonderful surround mix, great lyrics, really nice production and mastering.

I will be on the lookout for this one. This is going to be a blind buy for me so I hope I won't be disappointed.

I think now is a good time based on the prices I have seen lately, I think I paid $90 for it within the past year!

EDIT: Just checked, I paid $78

I wish it was me, $15? Shee-ite, really? I'm sure there's no difference between this and the DVD-A that I have, but I'd love to hear the SACD just to know for myself.

What is ridiculous is that Best Buy had copies of both the SACD and DVD-Audio in their stores for years. I always saw them when checking out their Hi-Rez section (remember that?) but did not have much interest in Beck at the time. I paid around $40 for the SACD several years ago.
