well i'm a guy and my girlfriend made me read the book before we went. i enjoyed the book but hated the movie because of how much they changed. but i think if you don't read the book before you see it you may enjoy it.

I'm sure that I could just "eat it up" also.

I think it looks good too.

Thumbs down

Channing Tatum is the worst actor I've ever seen put into films that aren't Indie. I actually like Nicholas Sparks books turned into movies, but when I saw that CT got put into this and I saw the first preview I had to Boo! at the screen lol and the other one coming out with Miley Cyrus (HATE her as well) didn't look TO bad until they showed her love interest. ****ing hate A&F model looking actors haha Just can't take them seriously! Greg Kinnear will hopefully save the film.

A fellow Minnesotan! Kelly Preston is a good actor too, she and Kinnear will probably do well together. I wouldn't write off Miley too quickly either until I see what she can do away from Hannah Montana.

Maybe the alternate ending is the book's ending?

I never saw the movie or read the book but I know that the ending's are different so that's why a lot of people didn't like it. But those who didn't read the book liked it, as far as I know. Which is completely understandable since they did the same thing with My Sister's Keeper, the book ending was much better.

I am. I'm a HUGE Channing Tatum fan and he was shockingly good in this (i.e the scene when he reads the letter to his Dad). I am not a fan of chick flicks like The Notebook (I don't even think I own ANY), but I will definitely be picking this up. It was a great movie and I'm psyched it got such a good quality review on here!

I usually do not like Channing Tatum's acting, ahem GI JOE *cough*, but I enjoyed this movie in theatres with my girlfriend. Solid chick flick.

I agree, his acting is terrible and so many women flock to see his movies. I'm sorry, but I don't watch a movie just because Jessica Alba or someone like that is in it. I can spend my time better. I did want to see this, though. People have been doing well turning Nicholas Sparks' books into movie since Message in a Bottle. I can think of 3 off the top of my head.

The movie was ok, I think it could be a little bit better but maybe the problem is not the script, is the Nicholas Spark's novel. I agree with the review Richard Jenkin's character stole the movie, he was amazing.

I will buy it on BD, but sometime not any rush.

This film actually has a lower rating from actual movie critics on Rotten Tomatoes than Leap Year.

Leap Year got a 2 here and this got a 3.5.

Again, that tells you that if you that reviews are good to have, especially if you're on the fence and spending money going out, but the only opinion that matters is yours.

Everyone I know that saw this said it wasn't very good, so we'll be renting...especially since we DID buy Leap Year. And it doesn't hurt that I can add some more Amanda Seyfried in Chloe not too long from now.
