Default The Tooth Fairy goes Blu May 4th

Fox takes care of the Tooth Fairy

20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has just unveiled details about the upcoming release of the family comedy Tooth Fairy, bringing the film to DVD and Blu-Ray Disc in May.
Dwayne Johnson stars as Derek Thompson, one of the toughest hockey players around - until he's sentenced to one week's hard labor as the world's most unlikely tooth fairy! Even though he must sport frilly wings and learn the magical tricks of the trade from his silver-winged superiors (Julie Andrews and Billy Crystal), Derek's determined to do the job his way and prove he's got what it takes!

The DVD version will feature an anamorphic widescreen transfer of the film with Dolby Digital 5.1 audio. As an added bonus, the release will also include the Tooth Fairy Training Center, a high-energy boot camp that will get the whole family off the couch and into the fun.
The Blu-Ray version offers up a 1080p high definition transfer with a DTS 5.1 HD Master Audio track and will also include the Tooth Fairy Training Center supplement.

“Tooth Fairy” grows wings on May 4 and can be yours for $29.99 on DVD or $39.99 on Blu-Ray Disc.

Thumbs up Forget the critics

I have seen Tooth Fairy and I will definitely be getting it on blu-ray. I don't care what anyone says, and that includes critics who wouldn't know a good movie if their lives depended on it, Tooth Fairy is a damn funny movie. Get it.

I saw it and didn't think it was nearly as bad as I thought it would be.

While it did have some funny moments, Billy Crystal being the best....the movie as a whole just failed to deliver. I am glad I screened this at my apt complex movie night and not a blind buy. I just feel the Toothfairy will be a major cavity to any movie collection. *pun intended*

Well to put it into context, the script for that movie had been in development hell for so long, it was originally written for Schwarzenegger in 1987. He was a marine who inherited it from his father.

Larry the Cable Guy is the anti-funny. you really need the mindset of a 5 year old to appreciate his "comedy".

It's not Dwayne's career I'm concerned with (all major action stars have made some bad choices regarding role selection); it's Ashley Judd's and Julie
Andrews' involvement that leaves me perplexed.

It's not the worst way to pass an afternoon if there's nothing else on (and yes, I saw this on cable ). Tooth Fairy 2, on the other hand, belongs in the same pile as the E.T. video game.
