Yeah, you guys are finally making some sense! The frequency cutoff was probably what did it. Tricked it into thinking it was in phase. I'll play around with it some more tonight.

And yes, I do have a Sony. But hopefully in another week or two it will be a Pioneer Elite.

Ain't it cool (pardon the colloquialism), when you discover something new or rather "new to you" about your system?
Regarding the subwoofer phase quandary, I do believe that if we all concentrate with jedi-like intensity, Yoda (a.k.a. Big Daddy) will show up and will have a thorough, although highly technical explanation for the differences in subwoofer phasing and crossover performance.

I was looking seriously at them as well. I like the true support for dual subwoofers (even though media doesn't support it, I do like the option as opposed to Pioneer's single LFE out). The thing that pulled me away from Yamaha was the YPAO. I am a tweaker by nature, and I know that the YPAO will not give me what I'm looking for. It was for this reason predominantly that I chose to go with the Pio Elite - MCACC will give my tweaker's urge the fix that it needs.

I'm very curious to find out. I was chatting with him a few weeks back about some different options. I was trying to urge him to match his front soundstage now that he has the Paradigm center. He was looking at about 10 different options. All of them were really good options, but I thought upgrading his Polk mains to Paradigm would give him the best bang for the buck. But I don't know if his latest purchase is anything along those lines or something else altogether.

No, I don't think that is what he decided. Sean and I both suggested that to him, but he was thinking Oppo and / or maybe an amp. The amp I can support, but in his case, I personally didn't think the Oppo was the best return on investment because he already has a blu-ray player. Upgrading the front soundstage to match his center was the easy choice in my mind, but he indicated he was happy with the Polk towers for now. So I really don't know what he decided. I'm very much in the dark, like the rest of us. He's kept this one very close to the chest, but I'm hoping for a grand unveiling soon.
