Well, I've checked a few sites that help with BR regions even the ones suggested here and Friday is not on their database, I will post my question on the UK movies forum, hopefully somebody from the UK might know some more details about this movie.

Friday in the UK is a Entertainment In Video product, which likely means it is region-locked.

I really appreciate everyone posting this stuff. I just grabbed the Bourne set for 28.38 shipped. I checked Amazon.com and it was 65.00. What a fantastic deal.
Thanks again.

I was just playing around, but those were some serious links... I, for one, am going to put through a lot of orders in coming weeks.

just curious... on the blu-ray region coding site... There are some that are listed as being region free but 50 hz... Does that mean that they require PAL? I'm assuming it is... which if very unfortunate.

Yes, same here. Thank you everybody.

I just ordered the BoB set for about $27.00 dollars(Which Amazon has for over $74.00 now),
plus both Toy Stories for about $13.00 each, and Moon for a little over $15.00.

And I also cleared several other items off of my Amazon wish list to boot.

Thanks again everybody. This is a FANTASIC site.

50 Hz is the refresh rate of the video, a somewhat common standard for European television. Most American displays and players do not handle that because our systems are geared for a refresh rate of 60 Hz. A notable example is the Region A PS3, which can't handle video with a refresh rate of 50 Hz.

Why is Band Of Brothers on here if its Region 2, not Region free?

From the product details on amazon.uk site.

Region: Region 2 (This DVD may not be viewable outside Europe. Read more about DVD formats.)

Amazon's product details for region are often wrong. The Band of Brothers blu-ray being sold on Amazon.co.uk does work in the US.

Question

Does anybody have any idea how the US version of Sin City compares to the UK version?

The UK version is noticeably cheaper and I was wondering if there was any reason not to get that version over the US one.

If they work in US players, if the special features are not in HD on most older releases, will the special features even play on US bluray players or will they be 50hz? thanks

The 40 Year Old Virgin is £5.99, or 2 for 15 (not a good deal that way...) with identical specs to the US version. Sans the worse cover art....

i am also wondering the same thing, that's why so far, i've held off on ordering the bourne trilogy because i was also wondering if the special features are incompatible with region a players (if they are in sd pal format).

Jeez, instead of wondering and wondering, just do a simple search on the iimport movies you question about playback, or just get a region free player, simple as that.

There are countless people who have the import Bourne Trilogy who aren't complaining about playback.

Here is a tip, if NTSC country subtitles (Korean, Chinese, Japanese, etc) are also included on European issued discs, they wouldn't put PAL content on it, would they?

I have a standard, unmodified U.S. Sony player, and it plays the UK-release Bourne trilogy movies AND extras just fine.
