Cast Away and Princess Bride coming to Blu-ray soon? - Blu-ray Forum

So I was browsing the blu-ray section on netflix and they had Cast Away as being released on August 28th. This is mostly likely an error cuz I heard nothing about this being released.

I was also on dvdempire and it says Princes Bride will be available for pre-order soon.

It's probably a guesstimate, since Princess Bride is getting a 20th anniversary reissue.

Yeah, Princess Bride was one of the early 'coming soon' titles, I think originally scheduled for Febuary, but disappeared off the schedule with no explaination a couple weeks before Febuary came. A lot of people are guessing it was postponed for the anniversary release. I hope they are right, as it is my favorite movie of all time.

I'd love to get Cast Away but I'm sure it's not coming as its a Fox title and they have been M.I.A.

Now that BD+ was ok'd, it will be a few more months before they can announce anything, with the testing of the implementation going on in the interim.

Just don't expect it to look that great. It's 20 years old, done in the era of cheap film stock and was low budget to boot

I hope they really beef up the special features of the Princess Bride for an aniversary release! I would be great if they take full advantage of the Blu-Ray format.

It would be great if Princess Bride does come to Blu-Ray. I love this movie, I watched it many times & I also own the DVD (Since July 2000, the original DVD release) but I would love to see this movie in high definition.
