I have a pretty impressive wall of DVDs along with a few Blu-Ray and HD-DVD titles, but I still love my LaserDiscs. Almost everything I own is anime, but that's ok; I'm perfectly happy being a bit weird.

Hmm.... I have this sneaking suspicion I ended up with your X9.

I think I saw your player. I was down at Duncan's shop a few weeks ago and there was an X9 on one of his work benches. He really is swamped. I couldn't believe the number of shipments he gets, and how many players he has lined up to repair.... Still plenty of owners out there I guess.

Thx. Ya even though I didn't overly like the movies, it sucks that Ep 2 and 3 never made it to LD. My collection obviously feels incomplete.

That said, for the Star Trek fan, I think you can get every movie made (other than the remake) on LD....I remember seeing a box set listed that had all 5 original movies plus all the Next Gen movies.....you can also get episodes of the TOS, TNG, DS9, Voyager...and even the animated series.

All things considered that's pretty cool!

and still damn expensive but if they have features not on the DVDs or BDs then it might be worth a purchase.

I got rid of some X-Files discs random episodes season 1 and season 2 but kept the movie since it had the intro by Chris Carter and I watched it more than the episodes but still I would love to get the DVD set and the new movie on BD which seems to be somewhat cheaper than buying LDs considering the factor in of shipping which some titles aren't worth it when you can get the DVD cheap with equivalent of the LD.

I picked up three movies today. I came across both Criterion editions of Blade Runner (#19, #69) and Tesla's Five Man Acoustic Jam. All three for about $8.

My roommate back in college had the Tesla video and I bet I watched the damn thing 100 times while under the influence. Shoud be lots of fun to watch it now after all this time.

Yup, $2.50 each, couldn't believe it! They had them off in a clearance section away from the other LDs.

Oh, and #19 still had the insert sheet about the edition.

Did either Blade Runner come with a letter? I had to get 2 copies of #19 to get one. #69 did not come with one at least mine didn't.

Yes, #19 came with the letter, #69 did not have one. The letter was on lime green paper.

Hi Pondo,

Sweet picture.

I wonder if it would be OK to put up some of my pix?

My Japanese set is in transit to me, actually from Japan , but it is the silver version of the set. Do you know if there is any difference other than the "Making of Part II and new covers used?

United Kingdom Ok then, here goes.....

These are my Star Wars Laserdiscs...

Ignore the remote controls on the carpet, not to mention Cola bottles. Well, now you know what I drink when I am watching a disk

I don't want to clog up the thread with loads of photos so I hope this works OK.

You mean this one: http://www.lddb.com/laserdisc/19605/...ctor's-Set ?

If so I think the only difference is it also includes a 'Making of' disc.

It was an intentional spelling error.

The name of the group, "Beatles" is intentionally misspelled, because the insect is spelled, "beetle," and the Fab Four have a "beat" to their music.

The word, "compleat" just carries on with this same basic theme.
