Default King Kong (2005) in 3D Universal Studios Hollywood

Yep, it's coming. Just saw a commercial on SyFy advertising Peter Jackson's King Kong in 3D coming to Universal Studios this Summer.

Didn't show any footage, but just two young folks, a guy and a girl standing on a busted up highway (think 2012) looking at a bunch of smashed cars, and then then the unmistakable 2005 King Kong logo pops up along with the notice about it coming in 3D to Universal Studios. Not exactly sure what that means, but does this spark the onslaught on older movies going 3D?

I'm pretty sure they're advertising the re opening of the King Kong attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood.

Yeah, that could be it. The last time I went, back in 2001, they were using what looked like the 70's Kong. It kinda scared the s*** out of me.

That could be very cool with a 360 screen and 3D. looks like they are going for the total emersion experience.

That's pretty cool. I love King Kong 2005 and showing it in 3D would make it a new experience. Universal Studios will be even more packed in the Summer.

That is very freaking awesome! I always thought it would be cool to do that but very difficult to film. Seems like they could only get away with it with CGI.

This is great news. I was really disappointed when they closed the original ride.

Yeah same here. They closed several rides I think. It's not the same since I grew up riding those like Back to the Future.

I'm waiting for Disney to make an UP ride.

I think they had to get rid of it because it's not modern, and kids today would be like "what the hell is back to the future"?

The one in Florida was replaced with some stupid Mummy ride

My name is Patrick Bateman. I'm 27 years old.
I believe in taking care of myself and a balanced
diet and rigorous exercise routine. In the morning,
if my face is a little puffy, I'll put on an ice pack while
doing stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now.

what a shame to replace it with the Mummy.

You have the Jaws ride. Orlando gets all the good stuff. Your Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disneyworld is like 100x better than ours. Ours only goes up and down.

Harry Potter is in Universal Studios, or Islands of Adventure?

Is it a roller coaster ride? I don't like rides like that.
