E-mailed Universal Au to check when exactly the BD/DVD would be available, and so August 25th is the day. They also said that the Blu-ray is "fully loaded with exclusive bonus content including BD-Live, U-Control and an I-Phone application to download bonus content"

It'll no doubt be cheaper and out much quicker in the us and uk.

I rarely, if ever, buy from overseas. I'm hoping they change the date to an earlier one. Network Video answered in their questions page that it would be out on August 4, which is obviously a more reasonable date, but I don't know how reliable they are.

You really should, you cqan usually pick up blus for half the price (if not more) then what they cost here.

Good to be given a release date. For some odd reason, this film did not come to my City, even though trailers were shown, and posters were up.

I'm guessing it'll come, just later then the official release date (it sometimes happens with non blockbusters in Australia if you live in a smaller town as well). Luckily I don't leave in a small town.

Thats the weird bit, I'm not in what you would call a 'small' city. We were one of the few that got 'The Shinjuku Incident' in its original language too. But oh well, I'll just buy it instead.

It's a fairly safe blind buy. Hit Girl steals the show though.

It's apparently only showing for one more day at my preffered cinema, I think i'll have to go see it again tommorow. The best comic book film I can remember watching.

just watched it, one of the best films this year. loved it. great use of 28 Days Later and Sunshine music. Will buy this asap.

Wonder if it will be some kind of 'unrated' version.

The director has mentioned a possible extended cut (20 minutes), though I doubt it would be called an unrated version giving that it was already a hard ma15+ and nothing they could add would make it an R (unless they shot more explicit sex scenes which is doubtfull). Personally however I can't see how it would really need it. It was also the same composer as 28 days later and sunshine and they where remixes he did for the movie (after he saw those scenes with those songs as temp tracks).

[Show spoiler]Nicolas Cage possibly has the best scene in the film where he takes out all the thugs and lights the warehouse on fire (it had been to long since Cage had actually acted, which he does here), although when you first see hitgirl killing the drug dealers is just as good, especially how she did those cute smile at kick as inn between extreme carnage and lines like "lets see what you can do now ****s".

[Show spoiler]I've heard that in the sequel Big Daddy may be alive, which would be awesome. This would tie in with the suggestions that the future comic books would be darker. Honestly though I just want more hitgirl slicing up people and less kick ass who oddly enough after he became kick ass was the weakest part of the story albiet very far from bieng bad

[Show spoiler]I hope Big Daddy isn't alive. That would almost ruin the first movie for me as I found the scene when he dies oddly moving, as he shares his last moments with HitGirl after she completely destroys all those thugs around him.

Definitely the best I've seen Cage in some years though.

[Show spoiler]Big daddy bieng alive could work, it would have to be done well though and not try and replicate how he was in the first film. I also found the scene touching when he dies, all he cares about in his last moments is his daughter despite how fueled he ahs been by revenge, the only thing that matters to him is to make sure she knows how proud he is of her.
