I don't mind the Special Editions so much. The part of the 2004 DVD changes that always bothers me is where they went and replaced the original actors with the actors from the new trilogy.

[QUOTE=Ernest Rister;4226964]No, I'm also going to add the myriad technical problems with the 2004 DVDs -- such as reversed surround tracks on the 1977 film. How is that not half-assed? Or how the Death Star explosion turns to black-and white with a hideous blue fuzz ringing all around it? And if this isn't half-assed, I don't know what is....

I didn't even know about that. I was 7 1/2 at the time.

Still that was pretty funny:3

I actually prefer the prequels over the originals myself. And yes, I saw the originals in the 70's/80's.

The OT focused on a few characters and the struggle against the Empire.

I really loved the PT for expanding things, showing us a much larger picture of the Star Wars Universe. Seeing how things like the Senate and Jedi Order operated. Seeing the Universe "Before the Dark Times, Before the Empire". It just really expanded the Universe into a larger more fleshed out reality. Plus I thought the story was more rich and compelling also. There was a lot more going on. It just really satisfied everything I wanted.

As opposed to what Rambaldi47 proposes, I am hoping that some of the prequels are pared down. I could do without some of the fluff in II and a little from III. Funny, but Jar Jar just doesn't bother me as much as Anakin and Padme's shenanigans.

The Upcoming 3D Theatrical Announcements. Supposedly they're still waiting to announce that.

All you folks who are thinking that he is going to re-edit the prequel trilogies and add scenes to the OT, wtf? Aside from the expected VFX tweaking do you honestly think he's going to re-edit them? C'mon! Stop speculating and just enjoy the news that we're getting the Saga in Sep. You're only setting yourself up for disappointment.

And all you anal lightsaber color folks need to get over it! It's only a promo trailer for Anakin's sake!

Well, we know the E1 Yoda replacement at least is in. Since the footage has been shown during the Star Wars concerts.

Have to disagree, think it's Revenge of the Sith that will be a popular demo disc, specifically the scenes at the Jedi Council and on Mustafar.

Revenge of the Sith will be the demo of the set...no question. Not saying the others won't look good but Sith will be special.

I'm ridiculously excited for this set! Screw the Rings Extended Edition Blu Rays. This is the one...

That will probably be the first thing I toss in when this set comes out that space battle was awesome on DVD; the bad dialogue is well another issue.
