Activity was slow for the first few weeks following the June crash, and the post-crash site reorganization threw a few regulars for a loop (myself included), but I think things were back to the way they were. Not much in the way of news on the PS3 forums, but then again, it's summer and I'm sure a few of us are distracted by the Olympics.

Not heard much at all. I'm guessing we won't hear any Killzone news until some concrete release of the next gen console.

Yes, the forum is MUCH quieter since they had that server crash that lost several weeks of data.

Many people were soured by the fact that happened especially since many good discussions were ongoing during that time.

Killzone Trilogy Coming October 24

I’m very pleased to share with you news that I hope will bring some anticipation to those readers with a predilection for all things Helghast and ISA and those who perhaps could well have in the very near future. I can confirm that 24 October will see the launch of Killzone Trilogy.
As you may guess from the Trilogy moniker, this forthcoming release will feature all three ground-breaking PS2 and PS3 titles that form the critically acclaimed Killzone triptych.

Here’s a rundown of what you can find contained within the appropriately dark and brooding box; firstly we have Killzone HD – which as you may have guessed is the curtain-raising original Killzone that kick-started the series, but now with a stunning HD makeover plus full trophy support.

In addition to Killzone HD the package also includes Killzone 2 where act 2 in the series brought an even more ambitious sense of scale, storytelling and action to the franchise. Finally drawing matters to a dramatic climax there is the breath-taking last instalment - Killzone 3, providing a fittingly cinematic dénouement to the series.
But that is not quite all, not only will the Trilogy include the three titles, the package will also include all the Killzone 2 & 3 multiplayer map packs free of charge. The full map package is as follows;

Was the first game actually any good? I remember it failed to be the Halo killer that many thought it would be, but in its own right is it a decent game?

I also consider Killzone 3 to be one of the most poorly done obviously rushed games I have seen.

I didn't like that they changed the stealth suite but I think the real reason people got bitter with kz3 was the maps! Lmao I played so much of that city one with the two Walky things on each side.. I know they lost a ton of people with the length of time it took them to fix it.

I don't know. For me, it was the switch to matchmaking only for finding online games that killed it for me. I hate that games companies are doing something that did not needed to be done. I can find a game just find by looking at a server browser. I'm just glad that Battlefield 3 actually had the decency to have one on the console versions.

Ahhh, it's a shame it ain't gonna be 60fps, but then again, I guess they're trying to be consistent...but they could have at least bumped up the res to 1080p. So many wasted resources.

Compared with what? Also, what aspects were poorly done (in your opinion)?

I haven't played the game recently, but it remains my favourite FPS of this generation, in spite of the dialogue during cutscenes and some balance issues (to be fair, I haven't touched the KZ2 multiplayer, so that could change).
