Finally had time to watch the gameplay videos and I must say I'm still not impressed at all. The gameplay and the mechanics behind it are very close to the other MK games, meaning it plays about as stiff as an 80-year old grandma.

The graphics are a big improvement over previous MK games, the style is going back to the roots, which is also a good thing and there's a lot of hype being created at E3. But if the gameplay won't follow and give something more organic and naturally flowing, it'll be a rental at best for me.

MvC3 is still my most anticipated fighting game for next year.

Really cool interviews. Sounding better and better. This looks like a CLASSIC to me. SO interested to see more new material and gameplay. And the secrets! Great! DLC should be interesting too I'm sure. I wonder how Boon is going to present that. Great stuff.

Quick old school MK question. Wasn't there someone named Tobias that was a co-creator with Ed Boon? Whatever happened to that guy, has he sold his ownership % or something or has just abandoned MK?

Yeah, John Tobias. Boon was asked about him in one of the interviews above. Apparently he moved on from the series a while back and does script writing for companies but is still very close with Boon.

John Tobias was his name and he was the co-creator with Ed Boon of Mortal Kombat. He left Midway in 2000 after becoming frustrated with Midway as well as the problems he was having in getting Mortal Kombat: Special Forces finished and released. He worked with the team again on MK vs DC as the illustrator for the comic book that came with the Collector's Edition of the game. According to what I've read, he's and the team are still on very good terms but his passion is more towards illustrating and writing comics than video games at this point in his life.

Just for reference, the MK franchise has expanded a lot over the years but it was essentially 5 guys who started it. Ed Boon, John Tobias, Dan Forden, Tony Goskie and John Vogel.

I'd MOST CERTAINLY pay a few bucks for a fatality pack. If each character comes with 1-3 fatalities and they release a pack for $5 that adds one more cool fatality to each character i'd buy it in a heart beat.

Hey guys, I would love to hear who some of your favorite Characters are and why. I think those would be some good stories. Here are mine.

Baraka - Blade fury, it looked it's best in MK 2 when blood when flying everywhere. He is a beast, a killing maniac and oh, the name Baraka itself is just cool.

Sub-zero - Ice is simply cool and will chill even the hottest players!

Kung Lao - His hat is pretty sharp, literally, and he stylishly beats you up and pulls a fatality on you with it.

Raiden - Electrifying. I loved when he posed in MK 2 and the lightning strike came down as well as his picture on the side of the MK 2 arcade cabinate captured the esscense of Raiden very well and that got me hyped when I walked up to it.

Shao Kahn HIS ANOUNCER VOICE AND TAUNTS IN MK 2 WERE EPIC, THEY GOTTA BRING THAT BACK FOR THE NEW MK TO COMPLETE THE MK ATMOSPHERE!!!

When this guy's bandwith refreshes from being exceeded, you will be able to see it, but this is one of his fatality.

A total of 26 for now, give or take 1 or 2. There are currently 26 slots on the character select screen from the demo, plus one question mark, and one DLC slot. Boon also mentioned there will be around 18 stages/arenas.
