Default Is the pq worth the upgrade for Caddyshack?

Nobody can debate if Caddyshack is a classic comedy, but people could debate if this 1980 comedy that really isn't a great looking film is worth the upgrade to Blu-ray.

I love the movie, but I'm not sure if the it is worth it. If anyone out there has seen it what do you think?

Thanks in advance.

The PQ is excellent. I've never seen this film look as good as this BD. Highly recommended. Plus bonus doc in HD too. Go get it if you like the film.

I can debate the classicness. I watched as a blind buy. It looked really good but I didn't laugh at all and am trying to sell the movie.

Caddyshack gets better the more times you watch it. Knowing all the lines is a part of the fun.

It's never been one of my favorite 80s comedies, but I am looking forward to watching it again on blu-ray - which just came in the mail today (from Netflix).

I've watched this movie twice since I bought it last week and, to me, the PQ is worth the upgrade. The colors are much more vibrant and the textures are a lot tighter. Plus, I am sure you will be able to find this movie for under $20 which is a pretty tame price for a Blu-ray.

Yes, it's worth the upgrade. This was never a good looking film to begin with, but the BD has some pretty obvious picture improvements over the DVD. Details pop that you didn't even notice before.

Plus, it's one of the most rewatchable films ever made.

Like I said in the other thread -- I viewed a 35mm print of CADDYSHACK last year and this BD looks very faithful to the theatrical presentation. In other words, the PQ is very nice.

The PQ IS worth the upgrade but the seal of the deal is that it's now in 5.1 albeit your rears don't really get a workout but the clarity sounds better as well. Do It!

watch the special features on this disc, It didnt get very good reviews when it hit the theater, however its one of the few movies where in time it gained in popularity. There are some other neat tidbits as well in there, worth watching the "making of"

It's an all-time comedy classic on a decent Blu. The documentary is an unexpected bonus. Buy it!

I haven't seen in on blu, but I did just watch the HD-DVD edition last week and was impressed with how good it looked. There may be some subtle differences between the two releases, but for all intents and purposes I can agree with everyone else: Caddyshack in high def is definitely worthwhile.

The HD DVD looks pretty poor on a large-ish 1080p display thanks to the jaggies, though. The Blu not only eradicates that problem but it also dials down the hotter contrast of the HD DVD.
